Just wondering if you can get pregnant whilst breastfeeding, how high or low are the chances? And does baby’s age matter? My baby is nearly 6 months old

Hey! 👋🏻 Yes you can still get pregnant whilst breastfeeding. If you're not ready for round two i would highly recommend contraception! Chances are lower than usual but there's still that little chance ☺️

Yes you definitely can, my period returned exactly 4 weeks after my baby was born despite her being exclusively breastfed! Not that I would have done, but if I had had sex 2 weeks after birth, I could have been welcoming another baby exactly 9 months later !

I wouldn't personally recommend medical contraception especially pp as your body is trying to heal and regulate hormones!! I came off all contraception several years ago due to the hell it caused my body and hormones. There are natural partial contraceptives that you can take and you can be mindful about when you are having sex and to not stay led down etc afterwards to avoid pregnancy. You can get pregnant immediately after birth regardless as to whether or not you're bf. Although it is meant to reduce the chances it is still a high possibility. It can be hard when you dont have your regular periods to track but try and monitor it by your phases and that should help you to distinguish ovulation periods x
