How to do longer stretches at night

My baby is 6.5 weeks old, she’s started to sleep longer stretches at night, however I am having to still wake her after a maximum of 4 hours because otherwise she will leak through her nappy. How are other people handling this to get longer stretches between feeds and changes? I feel like it’s almost impossible unless I want to change all her clothes each time!

Hey girl! My boy is 6 week 2 days, he can go a long stretch of 6 hours at times, we haven’t experienced any issues with any leaks, we use the pampers nappy’s and they work fab with him! X

Mine is 5 weeks and sleeps 6/7 hours and we leaked with pampers size 1’s, but now we’ve moved to size 2 and he doesn’t leak anymore so far x

Almost 7 weeks and she can do a long stretch up to 6.5hrs on a very good night. We use pampers at night and no leaks. Used pampers with my first at night and they would last the whole night (11-12hrs) when she slept through x

Birth thoughts

Hi guys.
I’m having a bit of a difficult time talking about my birth because I feel like I cheated it almost. It’s hard listening to other mamas stories and I feel like I didn’t do anything or much because of interventions. I had to be induced due to waters breaking and was put on the oxytocin drip - I then had the epidural because the contractions were crazy. They turned the drip off at some point because my body took over. Then the delivery… I ended up with an episiotomy and forceps. I just feel like I didn’t actually ‘give birth’ if that makes sense? Like I feel a bit embarrassed talking about it. Did anyone else have this feeling?

Night time scaries

Does anyone else’s little one wake all through the night and settled all day ? My boy is only a week old but as soon as it hits 9pm he’s just so unsettled I’ve tried everything holding him for hours , white noise , talking to him and swaddling him ect I just find nothing I do settles him at night time but he’s so content in the day 🫶🏻

Colostrum

I’ve been trying to harvest some colostrum for a week now every day and have only ever managed to get a tiny pin head amount out of one boob.
I’m honestly so deflated and it’s made me so upset every day as I’m not able to do it - does this mean I’m going to hate/not be able to breastfeed? It’s making me really sad every day when I’ve spent a hour a few times a day and just can’t get anything

How do you survive the 4am contact-sleep shift? 🤯

How do you cope with the early morning shift with a baby who refuses to sleep anywhere but on you? 🫠😂

We currently do shifts - I’m on duty from 8:30pm to 4:30am, then my husband takes over from 4:30am to 8:30am so I can get some uninterrupted sleep.

The problem is baby basically stops sleeping in his cot from around 4am and will only sleep on us, so my husband ends up staying awake holding him until my shift is over. 🥲

Husband is going away for two nights for work soon, and I’m honestly wondering how on earth I’m going to manage those early mornings on my own! 😭

Mums who’ve been through this, how did you cope? Did your babies eventually grow out of it, or did you find anything that helped? Would love to hear your experiences! ❤️

Non Speaking

My Boy just turned 2 in September, my concern is that he still doesn't have any clear words, he points and gestures like hands me his empty bottle or grabs things he wants but doesn't verbally say anything... His hearing is fine I know that, he barely gets screen time either and I am trying my hardest to verbalize everything I do or repeat words when he wants something.. anybody else got this problem or advice?🫠

Speech Therapy

My LO had her 15 month ped appt and her ped said she should be saying 8-10 words…she is referring us to a speech therapist because she only says around 4-5 words (she babbles like crazy tho). FTM - should I be concerned? I thought every baby is different and develops speech at their own pace? Anyone in the same boat?
