Has any one brought their LO to the hospital while in labor

My son will be 18 months old when I go into labor and I am really considering bringing him with to the hospital when it’s time I was just hoping to hear from other moms that have done this and how that experience was and possibly any advice that you may have also if you think it’s a good idea or not regardless if you’ve done it I’m just curious

Hey,

I'm based in the UK , So it maybe slightly different however when I went into labour, we had just moved no close friends or family we had no choice but to bring baby with us and there was noo trouble , nobody was fussed about it- i would personally call your hospital and ask what they're protocols are x

My first thought would be if it’s a long labor, who is going to occupy them and who is going to support you. I don’t want to feel alone when I give birth and personally, having my LO there would be distracting and I’d be worried about him the whole time and be limited in what I can do for him. And also it’s a time where I need some focused support. Just my thoughts!

If you can leave your LO with someone else it would be better. Think is a time when you need to focus in only one thing and be as calm as possible and focused in giving birth. I cannot imagine being in labour with my toddler beside me

Alcohol after c section

When did you lot start drinking alcohol again after c section? I’m 5 weeks pp from my c section and have an event tomorrow that involves alcohol, just wondering if it’s okay to drink bit or would it be wiser to wait a little longer. Would ask my midwife but I’ve been discharged so I can no longer get in contact with her.

NHS Letters for scans

I called up and changed my scan date on the 14th because I had limited availability. I then received a letter for the original appointment, dated before the phone call. I’ve not had a new letter with the new appointment on it and it’s tomorrow. Should I be worried it’s not gone through or is it standard to not send a letter since it was confirmed on the phone? I’m in Cornwall for context.

Night terrors and sleep paralysis

I’m starting to have really bad night terrors and I think sleep paralysis, I sleep with the baby in my room but I’m still having vivid dreams of the baby and in all of them it’s someone taking him or taunting me using him against me I guess, and I can’t speak in my dreams even though I try to and I’m just stuck there watching it, then before anything happens even though in my mind I know what was going to happen, I wake up really fast sweating and crying. But I constantly feel like what was in my dream is actually here watching me and sometimes it’s like I know something is there. I don’t know if it’s daft but I’m scared to leave the baby alone in a room when he’s asleep because I’m scared the thing will take him or something..

How would you prepare for a c-section next time?

I had an emergency c-section with my first child and I think I’ll likely have another c-section with my next child. I think my risk factors are that I had a big baby and I had 5 days of induction that never resulted in labour, and I have a high BMI.

I found recovery quite hard and I still have a lot of numbness (10 months later).

Is there anything that anyone who’s had a c-section/s would recommend to prepare for an easy c-section and recovery?
