Hey,
Today was my child's circumcision appointment, but I stepped away and said no. I didn't dare. How was I going to have the guts to do it? I was at the clinic, and I melted and started crying so badly that I couldn't. Now, have I made the right decision? I wasn't ready
What was your experiences in getting it done in older kids?
Thanks

I have a friend who had to get it done in his teens and he said it was miserable. He wished his parents would've done it when he was a baby.
I've heard this from many men so we decided on doing it when he was a baby so he wouldn't remember it.

My son had his done when he was just over 1. Yes it was absolutely heartbreaking and I cried like a baby but I was so glad he had it done while he was younger.
His dad had his done when he was 13 and said he remembers it to this day and it was the most awful thing ever especially after.
I’m so so grateful I had my sons done when he was younger🤍

I have two boys my partner and wanted to leave both uncircumcised. Never regretted the decision. My second though might have to get it done due to a medical reason. When they tell you the procedure it does scare me alot. I think I'm going to wait until he is that little bit older.

I’m from the UK so have an entirely different opinion on this, I just don’t understand why you guys all circumcise your boys? We don’t do it over here, only done for medical reasons but Its not common at all!

Go google the procedure and what they do to the baby. I truly don’t care if they “don’t remember” it. It’s still barbaric and more moms are waking up to not doing it. Our country is still the only country that does this procedure, (besides for religious reasons Judaism practice this at the baptism). Yes, complications that leave the baby with permanent damage are “rare”, but I personally didn’t want to gamble that

I chose not to circumcize my son. That's not my choice.

I had been told stories about people getting it done when they are older and none of them were good. I was also told by a friend that her own brother in his 20s is still learning to wash with soap..... so I decided im not trusting a preteen boy to keep it clean. The doctor where I live also wont do it on babies older than 30 days....
