My baby is 6 months old and is ready to go down to 3 naps from 4 as she is now able to stay awake longer in between naps however she’s still only sleeping for 30-40 minutes each nap which means adding in a 4th nap again😩 I would have thought she’d be napping longer considering she’s now awake longer!anyone else have this issue or have any ideas on why she may not be sleeping for longer? She sleeps so well at night time, anywhere between 10.5-12hrs which of course I don’t want to mess up but the 4 short naps a day are quite restrictive as I’m constantly trying to work out timings for when I go out😅

My LO had dropped to 2-3 naps a day and will typically only sleep 30/40 minutes. This is pretty normal at this stage and your LO may not need the extra naps during the day as she is getting a good sleep at night

Yes that was my baby as well. He napped anywhere between 30-45 minutes for naps unless one was a contact nap, in the carrier or in the pram so I would make the middle of the day nap that but I thought I had to protect that to ensure he got good sleep at night. Turned out I just needed to adjust his wake window slightly so keep him up a bit longer and now his naps have lengthened to 1hr to 1.5hours so maybe try that. But also like Alice said if he's sleeping well at night I wouldn't bother. Mine LO's sleep has really improved now but I think it's a combination of things e.g. Rolling, moving him to a cot wake windows lengthening naturally and adjusting them if he's had short naps.
