Girl same Iām due 8th of June and baby girl is measuring over the 99th percentile. Found out at an emergency scan the other day that she is 8pound 3 at 35+4 weeks! I already had a c-section booked for the 1st of June at 39weeks but seeing my consultant Wednesday as this will most definitely have to be earlier now xx

I am in the exact same situation! Due on 9th June, we had a growth scan 4 weeks ago and was on the 94.9th percentile, had another growth scan on Friday measuring on the 99th percentile and theyāve booked us in again for 2 weeks but theyāve told us to have a think about induction, etc too!

Hey! Same due date here and also my birthdayš!
I had an induction for my son as he was measuring large and he came out at 9lbs2 which I guess is kind of largeā¦
If I could go back in time I would decline an induction- I was in hospital for 4 days before he even decided to make an appearance. They wanted to send me home as a āfailed inductionā but it just makes me wonder that if it was that much of a concern theyād have just cut him out!!
I think an induction can go really well and be a smooth process but I do also think itās unnecessary stress to you and the baby.
Whatās the worry? Shoulder dystocia?

Yes! Glad Iām not the only one. Due 26th June, baby girl was measuring on the 94th percentile at 32+4, EFW 5lbs8. I had another GD test on Friday so will await the results from that but my fasting sugars were very normal so would be surprised if it came back abnormal. Iāve got a consultant appt on 22nd May and have gone to 2 weekly scans. I will be refusing an induction due to too many horror stories so would opt for a C-section instead if she needs to arrive early x

Look at the big baby trial - big babies (if your baby is even big scans have a 20% error margin which is huge) isnāt an indication for induction. Sara Wickham also has some great info on big babies.
Big babies stand the best chance of coming vaginally if labour is spontaneous, upright forward and open. Induction is the very opposite.
Iāve had two very large babies 9lb 11 and 11lb x

I had a big baby (8lb 15) naturally no tears. I believe that if itās a real emergency they wouldnāt recommend induction, just c section. I was induced with my first and it was just all so unnecessary.

I declined induction, and the baby margins are not accurate at all! My daughter I was told should be induced at 38 weeks, I went to 40+2 and she was 9lb 4, and perfect delivery xx
