GP refusing to prescribe things I need

I've had so much trouble with my GP refusing to prescribe me anything that I need, even when it's completely safe in pregnancy.

I had thrush and she would only prescribe external cream and not treatment. I had severe pregnancy onset eczema and she said I had to use moisturizers and again wouldn't prescribe treatment.

I ended up having to do my own research on what's safe in pregnancy and get things OTC by pretending I wasn't pregnant. I went weeks of barely sleeping with the eczema and then it cleared up in literally 2 days with the treatment. I'm so mad that I had to go through that because everyone's so scared to give anything to pregnant women!

Has anyone else been dealing with this? What did you do?

Can you request to see a different GP? You can also refer them to this website which is commonly used by GPs if there’s something that’s safe that she’s not prescribing you.

I had similar experience when i was pregnant last year. I had bad colds and cant breathe properly, had bad backache. The gp just told me it will go on its own and cant prescribed anything. Went to chemist and ask pharmacist and said the same thing. Which frustrates me even more. So I went to a&e sdec. Draw bloods and gave me antibiotics straight away as i already had uti and bronchitis.

They are scared to give yes. But it does not mean they can treat pregnant women. You can go to a&e or sdec. Or if you can go to maternity a&e?

I just had my baby two days ago but I had this my entire pregnancy with my GP. They wouldn’t even prescribe me my xonvea anti sickness medicine- I had to get everything I needed going forward at the hospital from the midwives. They were excellent about it though because allegedly, this is really common and they have loads of pregnant ladies struggling to get anything via their GP.

Regretting my choice of partner

I met someone in February and I was pregnant in March, he was so sweet and good to me and one time sex led to pregnancy.

When we found out, I was shocked and he was so excited, soon I got with the program but then I realized he had so many flaws I never noticed until my first trimester when I needed him.

I stay on my own and when he visits, he is useless, I have to tell him to take the trash out, which he still manages to mess up. Long story short, the relationship has gone sour now, I dread seeing him and I definitely do not want him in my life forever.

I am 11 weeks and 6 days today, and I am considering getting an abortion but dating was a nightmare before him and I am 30 years old.

Am I being extra?

For my first Mother’s Day I got flower from my husband that he bought at Costco when I was with him. I was kind of hoping a little more for my first Mother’s Day. I don’t know if I am being too much or not.

I was expecting at least that he goes by himself buy the flowers and maybe a card haha

And what I am supposed to give him for Father’s Day in that case? I love celebrating the people I love and it’s hard to not having the same.
