Get the ready made bottles for airport, ask hotel what they have - the hotel I stayed in had a lot so saved us. Milton tablets, washing up liquid, non bio powder detergent, foldable buckets to wash bottles, I bought a cheap bouncer on amazon and it folded up and was so handy and our pram carrycot folded for overhead on flight, overall found it was smooth and she was 12 weeks. DM me if you have any questions x

If you have a microwave in your room, get steriliser bags to take.

If not Milton tablets and a Milton tub (we used this to pack things like suncream in so it didn’t leak when we packed the suitcase!).

Ready made bottles for flight and airport.

Take a bottle or 2 of Evian to make bottles incase you can’t get bottled water as soon as you get there. We also took a travel kettle so you know it’s clean and only has the bottled water in for bottles!

Nuby rapidcool
Flask for boiling water
Bottle brush
Formula pots

It’s helpful to keep cooled boiled water in the fridge each day so it’s ready to go if/when you need it. Also use the hot shot method rather than making milk in the rapidcool as it saves constant cleaning!

Snoozeshade or similar for by the pool naps
Pram fan

Buy nappies when you’re there, just take enough for a day or so x

2 LOs in nursery too much financially?

I have a 18m old and now feel like I'm in a place to start trying for a 2nd child soon. We are 35 & 37 too and don't want to wait too long.
The thing that holds us back from adding another child is finances. Even though we are both on fairly good salaries, both £65k (when full time). Our largest bills are mortgage and nursery.
I work part time at the moment to keep nursery cost down to around £400 a month and spend time with my child, our parents still work full time and cannot look after our child in the week om a regular basis.

My question is how do people make is work when having a second child? Ive heard of some nurseries give a small discount for 2nd child in nursery, are preschools or nurseries at school cheaper?

I dont think me being a stay at home mum would work, my husband couldnt cover all the bills himself on a £60k household income.
But cant imagine how we'd make it work paying £800 a month for childcare for 2 (for 3 days nusery).

If you have similar situation and making it work please let me know to give me hope 🙏 🙂

To bring 4 year old to visit her dying grandma or not?

My MIL is dying of cancer. She is currently in hospice. I am in two minds - my 4 year old should not see her grandma in such a state and should only have good memories of her grandma. The other part of me wants her to see grandma so she can say goodbye and understand, when the time comes, that grandma is not coming back. My husband doesn't see any good in bringing her to see her sick grandma. We’re not too worried about our 1-year-old, as he barely spent any time with grandma, but our 4 year old remembers her as the gift-giver and keeps mentioning how excited she is for Xmas because grandma is going to get her lots of presents.

Nursery dilemma

We have been accepted into two nurseries.
Nursery A - posh, new Montessori toys, close to my place of work.
Nursery B - old school, 9miles away from my place of work (5min away from home)

Context:
- I will be returning 4 days a week (Monday to Friday)
- baby will be in nursery 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday)
- hubby - 3 days office based, and one WFH (Random days 🙄)
- nursery A £200 more expensive than nursery B

Both nurseries have great reviews with positive feedback from family and friends (we like them both, hence it is so difficult to decide which one)

FTM here, any advice is highly appreciated

Am I allowed to be annoyed

Please tell me I'm allowed to be upset that my mum refuses to do my toddlers nappy when she's watching him? When I was pregnant I initially thought my mum could watch him maybe a day or two a week so I could work part time. She's proved she absolutely cannot. She can't even manage to change his nappy. I admit he's very wriggly and she says I would just lie there when I was his age. She can't cope with home. He's 2 in August.
It means I can only leave him with her for an hour or two tops and I have to leave whatever I'm doing and come home and change him if he poops....
He was left in a soiled nappy for an hour today because i was in a bank appointment and then had to run to the grocery store....he now is red and sore.
I don't know what else to do! Sometimes I need to go to an appointment....i have no other options

8 weeks postpartum

How are people prioritising what to do in the short spans of time that you have to yourself with a newborn? My son is napping and will sleep for 10 minutes up to an hour and I don't know where to start. Should I eat? Should I shower? Should I be doing chores? We're nearly 8 weeks postpartum and I'm struggling with self care. I'm always in my pyjamas, in the house and don't eat properly or shower unless my husband is here 🙃 *crosspost*
