How long did it take you to potty train your toddler? Weeks? Months? I want to throw in the towel and go back to pull ups and it’s barely been a week. We had one great day. Only accident was poop and one pee accident on day 3 and then we went backwards. Ugh. 😣

Following because I’d like to know even though I haven’t started potty training my son

3 days. But she was so so ready, I do think that’s the trick.

Avatar

It’s been about a year and a half for my oldest and she’s still not completely potty trained (mainly because she just won’t listen when we tell her to go potty)

Avatar

It took 1.5weeks for pee (still currently have 1-2 accidents a week, usually when I don't prompt him as I'm busy) but poop took us a good 1.5-2 months

It’s been about a year/year and a half and I’d say my son is finally at a point where he knows he has to go to the bathroom and will go without me having to ask. However when we’re busy doing stuff I usually have to check in on him cause he doesn’t usually wanna stop what he’s doing. It possibly took this long cause I kinda just let him do his thing and wasn’t too strict about it

We did it about 21 months I’d say about a week before the penny dropped. We did day and night at the same time it’s hard core at first but so worth it x

Avatar

Following! I’d also like to know, how’d you know your child was ready?

My response to these comments 😑

Genuinely after two days we’ve never had an accident again and we’re a year in xx

One took about a week and my second literally a day lol never even had to open the pull ups. I waited until they were 2.5 years old though. I tried earlier with my first and it was a disaster.

We tried 3 times, currently in the third attempt and finally we've been successful, got it on the first day and has been nailing it since (been a week now)
The other 2 attempts he just wasn't ready (at 2yo then 2.5yo, he's now nearly 3yo)
The first two attempts I was doing it for around two weeks and he was just peeing everywhere, holding in his poo and I was in tears with the frustration 🫤

About 3 days. We tried at 2 and a half and stopped after a day. Then tried again at 2 years and 9 months. She took to it really easy.

I’m glad I didn’t push it the first time and waited a few more months.

We did it in the heat of summer so he can run around in his lil undies and not be cold. (I wouldn’t train in winter) The summer after he turned 2, he was 2y3m, I was at my sisters’ the kids were running around the backyard playing w the water hose and first couple times he peed on the grass, but I wanted to teach him the feeling of needing to go so grass w nbd to me, when he came inside I asked him every hour- if I couldn’t take him, my sisters would. By the time Monday came we had a playdate at the playcentre I put cloth training undies on him but he didn’t have an accident. Waited 2w after that and we tackled nights. He was fully trained before he reached 2.5.

Months because we didn’t force anything. We always had a potty accessible, let my daughter join me in the bathroom, talked about using the potty, encouraged her to try it but didn’t force anything. She peed on the potty for months, and then one day it clicked and she wanted to only use the potty. It was truly zero effort on our part - we followed her lead, gave her options and encouragement and she was fully potty trained the same month she turned 3.

About 2 weeks. She was about a month before her 2nd birthday.

Terrible 3’s???

My 3 year old has started peeing in some really weird places……. First it was the front porch he pulled his pants down and peed all over the steps Then it was a metro bus… literally pulled his pants down and peed on the bus ( yes I tried to stop him then he just started peeing on meee ) then I caught him in his room peeing in a BOTTLE !! Then last night he came outside while I was sitting out back and just pulled his pants down and peed😐…. ( mindful there’s a bathroom right by the door !) i keep sending him to bed early and like yelling at him but it’s not working this is becoming a pattern… helppp😭

Nursery dilemma

We have been accepted into two nurseries.
Nursery A - posh, new Montessori toys, close to my place of work.
Nursery B - old school, 9miles away from my place of work (5min away from home)

Context:
- I will be returning 4 days a week (Monday to Friday)
- baby will be in nursery 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday)
- hubby - 3 days office based, and one WFH (Random days 🙄)
- nursery A £200 more expensive than nursery B

Both nurseries have great reviews with positive feedback from family and friends (we like them both, hence it is so difficult to decide which one)

FTM here, any advice is highly appreciated

Am I allowed to be annoyed

Please tell me I'm allowed to be upset that my mum refuses to do my toddlers nappy when she's watching him? When I was pregnant I initially thought my mum could watch him maybe a day or two a week so I could work part time. She's proved she absolutely cannot. She can't even manage to change his nappy. I admit he's very wriggly and she says I would just lie there when I was his age. She can't cope with home. He's 2 in August.
It means I can only leave him with her for an hour or two tops and I have to leave whatever I'm doing and come home and change him if he poops....
He was left in a soiled nappy for an hour today because i was in a bank appointment and then had to run to the grocery store....he now is red and sore.
I don't know what else to do! Sometimes I need to go to an appointment....i have no other options

He cheated & I don’t know how to feel

I’ve been married to my husband for almost 2 years so we’re pretty new to this whole thing and for 80% of the relationships we were living in 2 different countries and I would go and visit him (we met on holiday). We now have a 1 year old daughter who I have been solo parenting for all this time until recently when he got his visa and was able to come to the uk. I would love to say we’ve been living the dream but it is far from it. He stays upstairs in the bedroom playing games most of the day or sleeping and I stay in the kitchen cooking and cleaning and looking after our daughter. Don’t get me wrong I actually choose to stay in the kitchen it’s the biggest room and my daughter can play whilst I get everything done. I have found numerous messages over the weeks to girls which he has played off as culture and language differences. I let it slide. Last night I found the worst one. I am 23 my husband is 28 and his woman on the side is 36 with 5 kids. She knows i exist. I have bpd and I crashed hard but for the sake of our daughter I have decided to stay. I just feel so empty and in pain now though because every time I see him I will remember. How do I get out of this pit? What do I do?
