How long did it take you to potty train your toddler? Weeks? Months? I want to throw in the towel and go back to pull ups and it’s barely been a week. We had one great day. Only accident was poop and one pee accident on day 3 and then we went backwards. Ugh. 😣

Following because I’d like to know even though I haven’t started potty training my son

3 days. But she was so so ready, I do think that’s the trick.

It’s been about a year and a half for my oldest and she’s still not completely potty trained (mainly because she just won’t listen when we tell her to go potty)

It took 1.5weeks for pee (still currently have 1-2 accidents a week, usually when I don't prompt him as I'm busy) but poop took us a good 1.5-2 months

It’s been about a year/year and a half and I’d say my son is finally at a point where he knows he has to go to the bathroom and will go without me having to ask. However when we’re busy doing stuff I usually have to check in on him cause he doesn’t usually wanna stop what he’s doing. It possibly took this long cause I kinda just let him do his thing and wasn’t too strict about it

We did it about 21 months I’d say about a week before the penny dropped. We did day and night at the same time it’s hard core at first but so worth it x

Following! I’d also like to know, how’d you know your child was ready?
My response to these comments 😑

Genuinely after two days we’ve never had an accident again and we’re a year in xx

One took about a week and my second literally a day lol never even had to open the pull ups. I waited until they were 2.5 years old though. I tried earlier with my first and it was a disaster.

We tried 3 times, currently in the third attempt and finally we've been successful, got it on the first day and has been nailing it since (been a week now)
The other 2 attempts he just wasn't ready (at 2yo then 2.5yo, he's now nearly 3yo)
The first two attempts I was doing it for around two weeks and he was just peeing everywhere, holding in his poo and I was in tears with the frustration 🫤

About 3 days. We tried at 2 and a half and stopped after a day. Then tried again at 2 years and 9 months. She took to it really easy.
I’m glad I didn’t push it the first time and waited a few more months.

We did it in the heat of summer so he can run around in his lil undies and not be cold. (I wouldn’t train in winter) The summer after he turned 2, he was 2y3m, I was at my sisters’ the kids were running around the backyard playing w the water hose and first couple times he peed on the grass, but I wanted to teach him the feeling of needing to go so grass w nbd to me, when he came inside I asked him every hour- if I couldn’t take him, my sisters would. By the time Monday came we had a playdate at the playcentre I put cloth training undies on him but he didn’t have an accident. Waited 2w after that and we tackled nights. He was fully trained before he reached 2.5.

Months because we didn’t force anything. We always had a potty accessible, let my daughter join me in the bathroom, talked about using the potty, encouraged her to try it but didn’t force anything. She peed on the potty for months, and then one day it clicked and she wanted to only use the potty. It was truly zero effort on our part - we followed her lead, gave her options and encouragement and she was fully potty trained the same month she turned 3.

About 2 weeks. She was about a month before her 2nd birthday.
