Hi Karla! 🩷 I had a C-section too (3 actually šŸ˜…), and my biggest advice is to take it easy and be patient with yourself. The first days can be tough, but it does get better little by little. Keep the incision clean and dry, wear loose and comfortable clothes, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
As a fellow mama with an apron belly, I found it helpful to gently lift the area when showering and make sure everything was completely dry afterward. Also, try not to overdo it even when you’re feeling better.
Most importantly, be kind to yourself, you’re recovering from major surgery while caring for a newborn, and that’s no small thing. Sending you lots of love and wishing you a smooth recovery and a beautiful birth experience! 🩷✨

Loved loved using scar tape to help feel supported as it’s healing. Vitamins E oil after the 6 weeks. And really take it easy those first 6-8 weeks. It’s a rare time to truly slow down. Best thing for you and baby 🫶

hi mamma I also am plus size i found getting a grab bar for the side of the bed at home was very useful. as far as keeping my incision clean and healing well I used hibaclense then would lay down with a clean dry washcloth under my belly roll for 15 20 min then pat it. my doctor was very happy with the way I healed and honestly it looks great. im 3pp

I had a c-section at 35 weeks. My baby girl was in the NICU for 6 days and I walked back and forth between labor and delivery and the NICU every 3 hours (except a few of the middle of the night cares). I healed so nicely and I give credit to being up and moving/walking soon after surgery and in the following days. Definitely take things easy, but don’t be scared to move- they say it helps! ā¤ļø

Scheduled c-section

Evening everyone! I’m really considering a scheduled section
I don’t want any criticism, how ā€˜labour is natural’ etc.
I had an emergency c section in July 2021. My waters broke at 12am and 19 hours later they delivered my son, I know labour is hard, especially your first, but what I endured in them 19 hours was SO scary, I was having panic attacks in the birthing pool from the pain, NOTHING worked (codeine, g&a, pethidine) it was so scary, me and my baby got so poorly because it was left too long. It was genuinely such a traumatic birth, once I got that needle in my back ready for my section, it was the best thing ever
I know recovery is difficult, but I’d like to go in, have my baby and go home, as I have a second one at home, not being exhausted from labour
What is everyone’s experience? Especially for mums who have kids at home? Not gonna lie the only thing putting me off is the social pressure 🤣 thanks :)

Packing for Induction

What would you suggest to pack more of or extra for an induction? This is my first and I currently have my bag packed for a spontaneous birth but induction is looking more likely. Thanks in advance!

Birth partner

I never see section birth partner is probably very different from a natural birth, birth partner.
Are there any key things that I need my birth partner to know or to do to be able to support me through a gentle c section?

C section

How soon did you go for a walk after having a c section? It’s been 2 weeks and I went for about a 15 min walk and now my scar is really hurting.

88th Percentile

Hi just needed a bit of advice. Not sure what to do or if I’m panicking for nothing.

I’m just over 33weeks and have started growth scans due to my long term condition. During this scan I was told that my baby is measuring at the 88th percentile? When I’ve been measured by the tape all this time it’s shown to be 50th percentile (I know it’s not accurate).

Anyway the doc said that if it reaches 90th percentile then will be looking to see if I have GD? But when I had my glucose tolerance test at 25weeks it was fine.

I know I’m just hormonal but feeling so guilty and can’t stop crying. I’ve had a rough pregnancy sickness and foodwise and haven’t had that much to eat. The only thing I’ve been able to handle is fruit, ice lollies and coffee frappes (without the cream). Did I induce this?

Any advice would be appreciated.
