Hi Karla! š©· I had a C-section too (3 actually š
), and my biggest advice is to take it easy and be patient with yourself. The first days can be tough, but it does get better little by little. Keep the incision clean and dry, wear loose and comfortable clothes, and donāt be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
As a fellow mama with an apron belly, I found it helpful to gently lift the area when showering and make sure everything was completely dry afterward. Also, try not to overdo it even when youāre feeling better.
Most importantly, be kind to yourself, youāre recovering from major surgery while caring for a newborn, and thatās no small thing. Sending you lots of love and wishing you a smooth recovery and a beautiful birth experience! š©·āØ

Loved loved using scar tape to help feel supported as itās healing. Vitamins E oil after the 6 weeks. And really take it easy those first 6-8 weeks. Itās a rare time to truly slow down. Best thing for you and baby š«¶

hi mamma I also am plus size i found getting a grab bar for the side of the bed at home was very useful. as far as keeping my incision clean and healing well I used hibaclense then would lay down with a clean dry washcloth under my belly roll for 15 20 min then pat it. my doctor was very happy with the way I healed and honestly it looks great. im 3pp

I had a c-section at 35 weeks. My baby girl was in the NICU for 6 days and I walked back and forth between labor and delivery and the NICU every 3 hours (except a few of the middle of the night cares). I healed so nicely and I give credit to being up and moving/walking soon after surgery and in the following days. Definitely take things easy, but donāt be scared to move- they say it helps! ā¤ļø
