My 3 year old is die to start F1 (UK) in September. We visited 4 primary schools in the area before settling on one (which turns out to be the favoured in the area) and when we visited to look round (out of school hours, so no children or staff) we were happy with it. I took my little boy for a 45minute stay and play session yesterday and, well....the children and staff he will be with daily. I'm by no means anything special but they were just so rough looking! I now can't stop crying at the thought of my child going through school with these kids. What do i do?

Is the area where you live quite cheap or rough? I guess what I am saying those will be kids of the people that live there so the other schools likely wouldn’t be much different

To be honest I’d be less worried about how they look and more concerned with how they are interacting with each other and your little one. Are the adults kind, patient and nurturing? Are the kids kind and friendly?
Do they have an approach to early years education that you are on board with?
Are the facilities up to scratch?
Those would be the questions I’d be asking myself.

What ever happened to not judging a book by its cover?
Just because they are ‘rough looking’ (in your opinion) it doesn’t mean they will be bad people.
