C section wound.

Plus size section mamas - how are we keeping this bloody thing dry and clean during this heatwave?
Yesterday I got my dressing off and there was a little bit of seepage in the middle so they said to keep it dry and air it but I’ve got an apron belly and I’m not sure how I’m meant to do that without laying down and holding my belly up in front of a fan or something (that’s literally what I did for 2hrs today).
Any tips?

I’m not plus size but all my extra skin from twin stretching just dropped and hangs because I lost weight while pregnant
I’ve found the cheap Asda breast pads folded in half a life saver to stop sweat & rubbing on my wound. You can also use pads but I found they just fell out but that may be because I don’t have a true apron
Just make sure you change them soon as they start getting wet

Use a maternity pad, fold it so the sticky side sticks together and place it between your belly and your scar when sitting down for periods of time. As they are absorbent they will help keep it try and stop your skin sticking together.

Thankfully recovered from mine before the heatwave but that was a tip a midwife gave me after my first was born and it really helped.

I sit infront of the fan just before I go asleep and just hild my belly up for a couple of minutes, during the day and night, ive cut the centre bit of the maternity nappies out and used that between the apron, its long enough to cover and wide enough that the whole under apron and both sides of the incision are covered, I had so many left that it felt worth using instead of wasting the money for pads etc

I’m finally 6 weeks postpartum today!

Today I am officially 6 weeks postpartum. I had a c section so it’s definitely been a long road. Anyone who’s had c sections before how do I go about having my first bath? My gp checkup isn’t for another 2 weeks but I’m desperate to have a bath and don’t want to wait if I don’t have to. Any advice?

Baby 3 at 45?

I have just found out I’m pregnant. Not planned. Baby number one was a miracle at 40 and we were one and done. Then my dad died and the thought of going through it as an only child broke me so we tried and had a 2nd little boy at 43. We are blessed with our family and I’m more than happy with my lot. I have found out I am pregnant again at 45 and selfishly don’t want my life to change, not spoken to anyone yet but have completed my self referral to the midwife. Is 45 too old?

Booking appointment

Midwife has left me a voicemail which I can’t make out what she is saying. They updated my Badger App but the appointment doesn’t show where the appointment is or anything. She said she would ring back later ( this was 2 days ago)

Fan

Are we able to oscillate a fan across a 2 year old? Just so the fan will be on her for 5-10 secs then move across the room? Or should it be completely out of her range?

Anyone else feeling overwhelmed with postpartum care

I had a C section previously and aiming for a VBAC. I got to 8cm so have been advised that all being well it should go smoothly. However, i am overwhelmed with the amount of postpartum care information, particularly found on tiktok..
I have brought always big pants with the pad as this seems would be used in either C section or vaginal however, there seems to be a million other products and i don't want to fork out loads of money to end up not using it. I personally don't want to use frida mom as I think its overpriced and over hyped but seriously.. what do I need and is there any recommendations people can offer that arent ridiculously priced or have 10 million steps before you even pull your pants up! And also, do i need all this stuff? What did people use before consumerism lol ???
