Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if there are any mums here who had a breech baby in the final weeks of pregnancy.
Tomorrow I’m going back to the hospital for an ECV to try and turn my baby into the head-down position. If that isn’t successful, I’ll likely be looking at a C-section.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation. Did your baby turn successfully? If not, did you go ahead with a C-section, or were you able to have a vaginal breech birth?
Any experiences, advice, or reassurance would be really appreciated. ❤️

Hey! My little one decided to turn breech at 40+4 so they booked me in for an ECV and failing that, a C-Section. When I arrived, they did another scan and she had moved again and was now transverse which is really risky if I was to then go into spontaneous labour. They discussed the risks of the ECV (placental abruption, cord compression, baby distress and potentially emergency c-section) I also have an anterior placenta (which changes the ECV success rate from around 50% to around 35% and also increases the risk of placental abruption) I also have a non compatable blood type with baby (im negative and shes positive) so our bloods mixing is not ideal. Taking everything into account, we decided we didnt want to put her through all of that distress and take the risks involved which ultimately had a high chance of leading to c-section anyway and opted for a planned c-section. Once we had made this decision, it was a calm and relaxed environment with no panic and alarm and I feel was the best decision for us x
