20 month old and all he does is moan, whine, throw stuff everywhere, knock everything off the table.
He’ll whine because he wants something that is right in front of him. He’s perfectly capable of getting it himself so I try not to get it for him and tell him to get up and get it and he has a huge fit.
It’s not even 8am, been up 45 mins and I can tell it’s going to be a really long day. This behaviour is exhausting and I know it’s probably just typical toddler behaviour but he’s being so destructive and I am literally struggling over here. I try to keep calm because I know they struggle with regulating emotions at this age but it’s so so hard and is wearing on me.
Anyone else’s almost 2yr old been like this? How do you manage it? He’s t young to have consequences ike time out apparently so I literally don’t know what to do as a ftm.

Yeah this isn't typical behavior. My little guy is 19 months and he doesn't do that. Only time he crys is when he is hungry and needs a diaper change. If he hits I curb his attitude quickly with redirection and telling him it's not nice to hit people. Be gentle. After I tell him to be gentle he gives me a hug. He doesn't whine or throw stuff around.
And who said he too young for time out. I put my little guy in the playpen with some toys to cool off when he gets to excited or too much.

Absolutely normal toddler behaviour they are figuring out the world! At this age the key is distraction, if he wants something he can’t have, find him something he can have that he’ll like. Rather than ‘no’ every time, redirecting to another activity is best.
Toddlers absolutely do not understand time out and I think it’s not even recommended these days until much older and even then it’s more of a reflection rather than just sitting on a step or something lol.
Anyway, super normal and redirection and distraction are key :)

Mine is very much the same ive been losing my god damn mind with the whinging and crying and throwing himself on the floor. He does it over everything...if he wants a fruit pouch and I sit on the wrong place on the sofa to give it him for example...
In the end every time he threw himself on the floor moaning I just left him to it and went to the kitchen to do something. I dont know what else to do...im trying to teach him that his behaviour doesn't work with me. Hoping he'll eventually realise throwing himself on the floor and having fits about all this stupid tiny stuff just achieves nothing...
