shop run

does it make me a bad mum if i was to lock the door and run to the shop for milk? The shop is literally on my door step, no more than 10 steps from my front door.

I personally wouldn’t be able to do this as so much could happen in a short amount. Of time, And I wouldn’t be able to deal with the what ifs. It doesn’t make you a bad mum but I would feel guilty x

Idk how old your kid is but assuming pretty young hence the question. It's not worth the risk. If it's literally on your doorstep can't you take them with you?

It doesn’t make you a bad mum, remember bad mums don’t ask themselves if they’re being a bad mum. I do however think that it’s so risky and anything can happen, god forbid she can choke in her sleep and all it takes is a minute for the worst to happen. I couldn’t live with the guilt in case something happened my love, can you take her when she’s awake?x

i’ll just see if it can get delivered. single mum life is not easy

It’s not worth the risk. I would hate the thought of my child waking up home alone, even briefly. Toddlers love going to the shop anyway, do it with them.

I wouldn’t risk it
I’d think about all the what if’s
If something happens in the shop & you never return… If she wakes up & hurts herself… etc etc

Worst case scenario, shop shuts at 3.30 and it’s 3.15 and she’s still asleep… just wake her and take her xx

I want another child but can’t do it 😢

I need to rant.
Every year we say next year.
But we just keep getting tired and tired.
Our nights become earlier.
Husband and I are too tired to hang out.
We have a 3 & a half year old daughter. Whom we adore.
The amount of exhaustion we have from her constantly telling us to look, how fast she wants to show us something from one thing to another, the talking.
We are great parents and know what we are doing, we tell her when it’s time for quiet time but we are dealing with a very energetic kid.
She’s in day care but we still can’t recover.
Do you believe that?

Am I in the wrong

I suggested to my husband that he could maybe one night every couple of weekends he could get up with the kids. At the minute im up about 5 times a night with both kids so hardly getting any sleep. Im happy to do this during the week as he is working and im on Mat leave but i dont think its unreasonable for once in a while for me to have one nights sleep. Also I do all the cooking/cleaning/childcare.
He just said no, he has a physical job and his body needs rest. He said he'll end up ill if he doesnt get his sleep. Im just really tired and expected to do everything all the time because im on mat leave.

Toddler asking for food all day long

I am genuinely getting concerned about how often my child asks for food.
It can be as soon as 15 minutes after a meal and she will be asking for lunch or a snack.
It doesn't matter what she has - carbs, meat, cheese, fruit, yogurt - she never seems full up?!
She will keep asking for a snack continuously until I give her something.
It feels like she's asking out of habit but she will always eat whatever I give her.

(Genuinely curious) Would you let your child

Would you let your child read trans educational books if they’re offered in the school library? When answering please say a reason why

Would you get annoyed at your sister?

So our hot water wasn’t working, as the boiler pressure was down.
I called to report it, and the landlord was telling me that we should try boiling hot water, and putting it in a plastic container and washing ourselves in the kitchen ( as I said I don’t want to carry boiling water to the bathroom with two small kids). ( as a temporary fix while someone comes to repair).

And I told my mum who was with me ( my mum was in a group call with my sister and aunts). And my sister said they tried tricking you guys, and we said no, and she said they tricked Bethany ( meaning me).

It’s fine if she just said it to me, but they were on a group call with other aunties! I felt so undermined. I got annoyed saying what trick are you talking about! So now the aunts gonna think I’m disrespectful?
