I’m combi-feeding my 8-week-old because breastfeeding was unbearably painful in the first couple of weeks due to a very shallow latch. Recently, I’ve been trying to breastfeed more, but I’ve noticed my baby gets really fussy at the boob and keeps tugging and pulling on my nipple.
It mostly happens between 5–7pm, so I’m wondering if my milk supply dips in the evening? I almost always end up having to top up with formula to keep baby content.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just the typical evening "witching hour," or could it be a supply issue?

Ooo I had the same happen to me (my baby is 7 weeks today) I was solely BF and was in so much pain from it we started combi feeding and it got much better, I find now in the even and night feeds she’ll tug on my nipple and wriggly a lot during the feed. It makes it quite uncomfortable. I would like to know if there is a reason too.
I’m sorry you’re going through this x

Hi I'm at 11 weeks now and had the same at about 7 or 8 weeks, it felt almost like my breasts were empty and she was almost tugging at my nipples in frustration to get milk. It didn't help bedtimes as she was not settling, I believe it is quite normal and in my experience it only last a few days or maybe a week max I think (days are blurry). After this my supply really balanced out, and she got better at feeding and it has been sooo much easier breastfeeding.
I had an awful start breastfeeding but so glad I kept going now. Hoping it will be the same for you and it improves.
