Rhythm, Ritual, and Routine?

my baby is seven weeks old, and I think we’re both recovering from last week’s growth spurt, which sort of threw a wrench in any semblance of a routine we’d developed. we have a bedtime ritual, but that time sometimes varies (we try to keep it around 8:00 as best as we can).

I let the baby sleep and nap on demand, but it doesn’t feel like there’s really a rhythm yet. Does anybody have one at 7 weeks? And are yall regularly putting baby down for naps? because it’s contact nap city over here.

My baby is almost 9 weeks old and every time I put him down for a nap it only lasts for like 10 minutes but contact naps last for like an hour 🥲

Ah, the routine. Let me tell you about my 7 week olds routine. We had such a great thing going for a while. And then week 6 into 7 hit. And he decided f*#%$ the routine! He stopped napping more than 25 min (on his own) and will ONLY contact nap. And he has decided to also contact SLEEP as of last night when he refused to sleep alllll night long.

Nevertheless, I still try and keep some semblance of a routine around the madness he creates. Im holding on to hope that if I keep trying my best to hit “target times” for his feeds/naps/sleeps.. that it may help by the time he’s 3 months.

Will it actually work? Who knows.

I’m slightly terrified for what tonight holds for me 🥲

My baby is also 7 weeks and it's exactly the same. She the boss, me and my partners are simply along for the ride.

My LO is also 7 weeks and we have no distinguishable routine to prepare for overnight sleeping. We feed on demand. She wakes at least every 3 hours. And sleeps as long as she wants. She loves her contact naps but I struggle with being physically uncomfortable after a while and I would baby wear but that’s also physically uncomfortable after a while and I exclusively pump which is near impossible while baby wearing. So our current struggle is repeated failed transfers to the bassinet that result in over tiredness.

To circumcise or to NOT circumcise, that is the question.

Hey ladies, so I'm about to give birth, like... he should be here tomorrow. and I'm torn between the two. His dad isn't and he's not really helping me with this decision and now its crunch time. I feel like dad hasn't had any issues and (tmi) but I personally think its pretty cool, and can see certain benefits of have a "pull back" but I've only had a daughter and this is my first (and last) boy. I asked one of my friends who didn't choose to circumcise her son and she said she wish she had did it. He's about five now and she says that it irritates him.
So now I'm like... what to do?!

Nursery bag

Hello! Looking for a small backpack for nursery with my son’s name sewn or printed onto it. I’ve been told to check Etsy but just wanted to ask here for recommendations to see if there are any other good bags out there! Any ideas? ☺️

Problems

I’ve been with my husband for a long time, and lately I’ve been questioning whether what I’m feeling is normal or a sign that something is missing. He’s a wonderful provider and an amazing dad, and we do have genuinely happy moments together. But I often don’t feel emotionally safe, valued, or respected during conflict. I’m usually the one trying to talk things through, while he gets defensive or shifts the blame, and it leaves me feeling unheard. I love our family, which is why this is so confusing. Has anyone else been in a relationship where the good moments are really good, but the hard moments make you question everything? How did you know whether it was something you could work through or something that wasn’t enough anymore?

Am I being selfish by putting my baby to sleep by 8pm and having a strict routine?

My baby goes to sleep between 8 - 8.3 depending on his last nap and I am strict by it as he is goes over its difficult to put him to sleep. It's the same thing with stimulation near his bedtime. It's taken me over an hour to put him to sleep because he fell asleep in the car my husband woke him up and when we walked into the house my in-laws straight away grabbed him and stimulated him. I
Told my husband specifically I need to put him to sleep so take him straight to the room.

I put him down at this time, as 1 he's tired but also after he goes to sleep I get
To shower, make food, eat and have some me time. Whereas for everybody else they want to spend that time with him but I'm the one that has to suffer after.

Am I selfish for wanting some me time in the evening and putting him to sleep and essentially taking away that time with my in-laws? (They work and often back late evening)

Nap time chaos🤯

My baby has just turned 3 months old and in the last couple of days he goes from 0 to 100 when he’s tired and wanting to nap. Once he’s asleep, he sleeps amazingly, but he will just scream and cry before it, most of the time not wanting to be rocked or held either. I think it’s developmental as he’s becoming more aware of the feeling of falling asleep? Anyone else in the same boat?!?

Bedtime routine/times

Hi mamas! Just wondering what bedtime your May 2026 babies have?

I’m feeling a bit guilty because my LO is usually in bed quite early now and it means his dad only gets about 1.5–2 hours with him after work before he’s asleep.

At the moment, his 5th and final nap finishes before 6pm, then he’s awake for around 1.5–2 hours. During that time we play, have some quiet wind-down time and get ready for bed. He’s exclusively breastfed, so I do his feed and bedtime. Dad has suggested I should add in another nap so he can go bed later (when he was a newborn he’d go to sleep around 10pm) but he’s naturally shifted into an earlier bedtime and selfishly I finally get some time to myself but I can’t help but feel guilty.
