Housework while entertaining 5 month old

Hey! I am a first time mum to a almost 5 month old baby girl. I’m currently on maternity leave and trying to find ways to entertain my baby. She is extremely alert and wants constant attention.
My problem is that I like to try and get the house work done during the day so that when my partner gets home, we can do the bedtime routine and then relax together as this is the only part of our day we get together.
How is everyone else entertaining their babies while getting housework done??
My daughter will play independently in the activity center or in tummy time but it’s normally only 5 minutes before she gets bored and cry’s for my attention.. what do I do?

I've found the washing machine buys me time in the kitchen, she sits in her bouncer and watches it and I can do a room with music on while occasionally stopping to dance for her 🤣 but overall it isn't easy to keep a clean house while caring for a baby... This is my second child and I've just come to terms with there's always something that needs doing around the house, just try keep it overall clean

Mine is similar. She will sit in her bounce chair in the garden and look at the trees whilst I hang up the washing. I also have her in the sling and am able to do some things like very slowly load and unload the dishwasher or some bits of tidying up. Aside from that we just have to do things once she's gone to sleep for the night.

Baby wearing helps a lot! I found it too late but that day i did laundry and made dinner so easily I was so excited 😅

My baby is 1 now but I’ve had the same problem since birth. I bought a couple of high chairs off Amazon on wheels, one for upstairs one for downstairs, so I put him in there and wheel him around with me while I’m cleaning and tidying.

I know this isn’t advice for keeping her entertained but what helped me so much was a wrap sling no hands needed to hold them and it’s secure to them supporting their head so you can move around so much easier! Was a life saver for my clingy son who was also hard to entertain

Need help, husband is financially abusive and I want to travel for my Grandmothers funeral but he is very controlling with his money.

So my Grandmother just passed away and i would like to travel for the funeral. I am a stay at home mom with 3 kids and haven’t been in the work field in years. Especially after we moved it didn’t make sense to find a job since my kids are young.

My husband is the one that works and handles EVERYTHING!!! I do not get any weekly or monthly allowance 😔We don’t share bank accounts or anything. Once in a while he will give me a $100 here and there. So most of my spending goes to my Visa card but then he gets upset and wonders what I buy because he is the one that will have to pay it off. Then he makes the comment let’s see how long it will take until you come to me to pay it off.
Most of the things I buy are for the kids. We go on outings because it’s the summer and I try to find affordable things to do with them but then they need food or I go to the grocery and pick up some things that I need for the house or for dinner that day.

He does the grocery shopping but it’s always the same random things. It’s not like groceries based on meals that are planned out for dinner.

So anyways my grandmother passed away and I told him I would like to travel and go to her funeral since I missed my grandfathers funeral. It took a a lot of back and forth about how financially now is not the time and how we should go another time. My family had a group meeting and want me to be there since I haven’t seen them in YEARS. They also want me to do the Eulogy so I have to travel to get there.

In the end he end up booking the flight and hotel for me but he said I have to bring our toddler with me because he doesn’t want to watch him or deal with him. So I will be alone on a very long 2 days of traveling (flying and layover) but there for a week with my toddler.

I also will need spending money for food but I am scared to ask him because he already made a big deal about this trip. I am honestly happy for the break away from him but how am I going to manage without extra cash. I need to pay for taxis, I have to contribute to the funeral as well. My toddler eats a lot and I have to buy food since the hotel charges for all the meals.

I should add we have been married for 14 years and I am unhappy with the situation 😞

Is there a quick job I can do (toddler has to come too) because he is always with me. I need to make some extra cash to bring with me.

I really appreciate all of you who read this and offered any suggestions ❤️

Husband issues

I’m 15 weeks pp and have retained 10kgs post delivery. I’m exclusively breastfeeding so don’t have the time to work out or go on diet. Other day I tried to fit in my pre pregnancy jeans for a small outing. Hub comments “ look at your tummy, it’s clearly visible and you look like an aunt “

I have been slim my entire life, and already dealing with body issues. His comment made me sad. I shared how i feel, he said he was joking and i take everything seriously. 😟 he is also texting and trying to be friends with my best friend. I’m so upset right now.

Am I a terrible wife?

Hey all…I am 4 months postpartum and struggle with PPD/PPA. My husband knows nothing about mental health no matter how many times I explain what I’m going through. This evening he asked if I could “schedule him in for a makeout session.” I told him sure…whenever he takes care of the laundry for the kids, cooks, cleans, takes our son to his frequent appts, runs the household, remembers our sons meds, etc and he just looked at me. He helps some don’t get me wrong. But he leaves the mental load to me, waits for me to tell him what to do and then says I didn’t remind him if he forgets to do something. Am I a terrible wife? Y’all I am exhausted to my core 🫩 we both also work full-time.

Give me your thoughts

Does my husband have a right to complain that I’m a jobless, low-income wife? Every night, I take care of our daughter and stay up late until she falls asleep. On top of that, I also work part-time at our family business.

Tried a few different foods such as toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs and cereal. He only likes scrambled eggs and pancakes.
Any recommendations or ideas, feel free to message me anytime!
Thank you 😊

Chores

Guys I need some help/ideas to keep on top of house chores, appointments, food shopping etc. I feel like we’re drowning at the minute and it’s making me feel really stressed out. Hubby is helping as much as he can but it’s still not enough. It’s getting more difficult to put little one down to put a wash on for example. We’re not sitting down until after half 8 in the evening as it is. And still all our beds are in desperate need of a change but I just can’t find the time.
What do your routines look like day to day?
I know this will get easier in the future (I’ve got a toddler) but right now I’m at a loss.
