Has anyone potty trained aged 2?

I want to potty train when my child turns 2 in a few months. I see a lot of people saying they did it at 3 years old. And I just wanna know how it went, how long, could your toddler talk say toilet etc

We've done it before 2, at 21 months. Yes he could talk and pull his nappy off. It's not completed yet, and he still wears a nappy in the car and most days out. But he asks to go most of the time

My daughter is 2yrs 3 months and we have just completed day 3 of potty training.
She has been doing well - kept her naked from the waist down to make it easier for her.

We started off when she turned 2 just getting her to sit on the potty during nappy changes. We then took a travel potty when we went away last week and got her to sit on it more.

Monday was the first proper day and I got her to sit on the potty every 15-20mins. I also watched out for signs that she gave off when needing the potty - she would clutch herself and bend over. Had 1 accident.

Yesterday - kept and eye out for her signs and asked her every 30mins if she needed to go to the potty. She was able to recognise when she needed to go, but would wait for me to ask her. Had 2 accidents

Today - we had no accidents. She was able to recognise when she needed to go, but still waited for me to tell her.
We had a few dribbles but she stopped herself and told me she needed a wee.

We tried at 24 months and it was stupidly hard work he just wasn’t ready. He’s also super super stubborn, didn’t want to do it and couldn’t be bribed. We’ve just tried again at 2 years and 9 months and we’ve had 0 accidents even at nursery. We used the potty at home inbetween these ages on and off.

In my experience waiting until they’re a bit older is much smoother. Often when you potty train them when super little it takes months to be reliably dry and tonnes of accidents so it depends on what you’re looking for I guess.

Every LO is different though, follow their lead x

We potty trained at 2.5, went pretty well and were mainly sorted after 4 days with wee’s. Poo’s took quite a bit longer, particularly at nursery. She would try and hold it rather than going on toilet or potty and then end up having poo and wee accidents when she couldn’t hold it anymore. I think overall it took 4/5 weeks to get fully sorted.

I did with my daughter at 22 month when I was pregnant with my second and she was fully potty trained by the time baby came at age 2.4 during the day we still had pull up at night just incase. After a month of them being dry we got rid completely nappy free by 2.7.We bought a mini toliet for the front room sat her on it before every nappy change asked her often if she need the toliet wanted to try. Stayed in the house for a few days. Once she had it in the house she did pull ups out, then no nappy on short trips especially if we knew there was a toilet where we were going. Don't get cross with accidents they happen. Currently encouraging my 18 month old son to try the potty as he pulls on his nappy once he has had a wee in it. Doing the same thing once his nappy is ready to change sit him on the potty ask him if he needs to go let him stay till he wants to get off (couple of minutes) then fresh nappy till he indicates its wet. He also tells us when he has had a poo which is why we are starting

We tried multiple times. At 2, ,2.5, 3 and it didn't work for us. My son is very very strong willed. If he doesn't want to do something he won't. We tried everything you could imagine and it just ended in frustration and tears. We just decided to take a step back until this summer and he finally showed proper interest. We followed his lead completely. For him being asked if he needed a wee etc didn't work. He would become more frustrated. Instead we just kept him naked and said ok no more nappies, if you need a wee or a poo the potty is there. Once he had done the first wee and poo and was given lots of praise something just clicked and he has had only a handful of accidents. It was a breeze. It goes to show every kid is different and not every kid responds well to traditional potty training methods.

Started potty training both my girls before they turned 2. My first was fully out of diapers before 2. My second was daytime trained at 2 years 3 months and now at 3.5 is day and night trained, but still has the occasional bedtime accident if she over hydrates at dinner

I started at 21 months and it took a week ,yes I taught him potty and pee .I handled accidents and regression,it will happen don’t give up .
Hasn’t worn a diaper except for night time. it was hard 1st 3 days then it suddenly clicked and that was it .
He is now 2yr1mnth.

I’ve been doing elimination communication, so have been putting my now 9 week old on the potty since he was born. He goes for 80% of his poos in the potty and 60/70% of wees! So in my opinion it’s never too early to start.

I started when my daughter was 2 its taken her 5 months to actually get it, i will be starting my son when he turns 2 though i think consistency is the major thing with potty traininv

Started casually at 20 months with my LG and she was reliably day dry by her 2nd birthday, only used pull ups for naps and overnight, or back ups for long car journeys (but she’s never peed during a car journey since she’s been day dry).
She’s a few months past 3 now and is dry for naps, and pretty much dry overnight too, which we’ve let happen naturally.
Never too early to give it a go, I’m so glad we cracked it early because I swear if we did it now with the crazy 3 year old stubbornness it would be horrendous 😂

Malnutrition

My son’s pediatrician told me at his 12 month appt that he was 5 lbs under weight and needs more iron. She said it’s because I’m still breastfeeding. My son will only drink water and breastmilk (from the boob). I finally got him to drink some milk but only if it’s 50/50 with water and in a certain cup. He’s a great eater and now on iron supplements. Idk what to do, I’m trying to give him extra protein, vitamin C (iron absorption)and whole fat yogurt, etc. We have a nutritionist and made an appt with a different pediatrician. I feel like I’m not doing enough for him and I’m a bad mom. Any words of encouragement?

This is going to be a hard post to write

So my partner who I’ve been with for over ten yrs is just slowly grinding on me with his view on life. It’s actually embarrassing. He’s flat out racist and right wing. Today was the nail on the head when he said “I
Don’t want our kid mixing with that culture in nursery incase he touches their saliva”
Like what the heck do you say to that?
It’s a genuine problem for me now dealing with his moods because he’s so against other ethnicities and doesn’t want our child mixing with them. I’ve had a long talk with him about how this is madness and even gone as far as to tell his mum. The issue is that he’s so sweet and a great dad and I love him to bits but this is just an ugly side to him that I’m scared is gonna rub off on our child. What am I meant to do?

I'm depressed that my 3yo son always wants TV right at daycare pickup what do I do

I generally wait a bit and I have a snack ready for him and it drives me nuts that all he wants is TV when he's in the car after daycare pick up so it's really bugging me and I feel like I failed

If your 1 year old does not eat the dinner you prepared..

Would you fill up their stomach with something else they like? Pouches, snacks, cereals, yogurts? Or just give milk?

Nobody to look after our toddler when I give birth

Unbelievably, I'm 38 weeks pregnant and we still don't have a proper plan in place for when I give birth for who will look after our 3 year old. We are planning a home birth and just hoping that it'll happen during the night. We have hired a doula who can help us out by either staying with me while my husband settles my toddler/drives him to nursery etc or goes and plays with him herself. But both my husband and I agree we aren't comfortable with leaving him with the doula if we need to transfer into hospital as she is essentially a stranger to him (we've only met her once). We know a couple of local families who may be able to look after our son for a couple hours at most. Again, we aren't particularly close with anyone so we wouldn't feel comfortable leaving him overnight with anyone. No family around, except my brother who is a 2 hour drive from us and told us he's too busy to help....wtf do we do...so stressed...has anyone here ever brought their toddler to hosptial? Or left their husband/partner at home to look after toddler? I'm devastated at the thought of my husband missing the birth but I think it would be the least stressful option?

Weaning help!

My 9 month old seem to not like eating any meat, we have to kind of force her to try it and this is a daily struggle, is it just a case of persevering until she likes the flavour and texture or should I avoid any come back to it in a month or so?

Any help and advice welcome!
