You're the maid of honor to your sister in law's but your grandma passed away and the funeral is held the same day. You're not really close to the sister in law, went out less than 10 times together. Grandma raised you up since parents were always at work.
2 daughters are the flower girls. Husband is one of the groomsmen.

It doesn’t matter really but what would you be most upset about? What can you live with ? Can you live with not attending your gmas funeral or live with not attending wedding ? And you can always think about what your grandma would want you to do. If it were me and I was passed away, I would hope any of my family members would choose to go to another event if it was the same day and choose to live over my funeral but that’s just me.

Your sister in law’s wedding is your brother’s wedding 🧐 sooo this is a bit of a weird one to organize a funeral on your brothers wedding

I’m confused
You are the maid of honour but you guys are not close
I thought maid of honour is supposed to be the closest friend?

English is not my mother tongue, but couldn’t the sister-in-law be her husband’s sister?

Is it possible to do both? I would go to the wedding and find a way to pay my respects. Surely when organising the funeral your family would have known to avoid that day.
