Martial arts/ jiu jitsu for kids help

Hi moms,
I want to explain my situation. So ive been wanting my son to train and hes 6. We found a studio that he has gone to 3 trial classes for. The instructor asked me after Day 1 if my son has special needs because he needed more explaining it seemed and was spacing out.

Today the instructor told me he feels he should come back when hes ready to listen but my kid is spacey by nature. Not sure if hes gonna listen more.
I homeschool him and he also is mostly in smaller group settings for his instruction when he goes to his enrichment programming.

He is spacey and not that physical. Hes creative and book smart so im wondering does the teacher have unrealistic expectations for my son (6 yrs)?

The teacher suggested he train one on one. He doesnt seem to want him in group class as he says its unfair that my son needs more help to learn the moves with one on one instruction.

But hes brand freaking new.

I need help deciding but I dont think its right for him to be expected to learn based off looking at the teacher and hearing his words.
He seema bothered that my son spaces out. Is this not the sport for him?
Sorry im spiraling. Any experience please?

My son seems to be having fun and enjoys it and we want him to go to exercise.

What age did you put your kid in it? Did they take a while to learn?

My son has a kid in his jujitsu class that really really struggles with listening. I don’t know if it is just the instructor but he handles him REALLY well. I know he had had some conversations with the parents but he hasn’t been asked to leave. Maybe try another jujitsu gym and see if there is one that fits better.

Hi mom! Here are mom with a similar experience. My son started with karate last. He really like it but then he started getting distracted. Also the classes were quiet but, but the instructors were super patience about it. We even asked multiple times because we felt it was too much. And they were super suportive that he would get there and not to worry. He is very active and steams a lot. After appointments couple of months he did not want to go anymore. My husband has done lots of martillo arts during his life and he does jiu jiutzu now. So he takes our son to his gym and he got hook up on it. So my son started going to a jiu jitzu class for kiddos. The teacher is super patience too. He is still distracted, also takes more time to learn some.moves sometimes. But the instructor is so supportive.
I feel you are getting a instructors that just does not want to deal with it. Like some ppl are instructors but they really dont have it in them. Doing the sport and reaching it are diferent things.

My son goes to a Taekwondo class that has a sensory friendly session. It's been really great for him. Definitely try other martial arts schools and find one that works for him.

Hi! Mom of 2 kiddos who do Martial Arts. And I do it to. While yes it’s ALOT to learn, I do feel like the instructor just doesn’t want to deal with him. We go to a kid class and there is a 4 year old in there. He started when he was 3. But the instructor is really good with him. I also think if he doesn’t have “time”
Or not “fair” to the other kids that listen, then that instructor needs a 2nd person in there to help. Not everyone is going to listen and immediately get it. Poor business on his part. My daughter is 6 and does boxing and she usually does it for about 45 minutes out of the 1hr and the coaches are completely okay with that.

I’d definitely look for another gym!

I’ve thought my girls jiu jitsu Maybe he just didn’t want him to get hurt in training from him spacing out when he’s teaching it is normal to an extent for that age nothings wrong there he just wants one on one so he can be more prepared in a group ❤️

Learning at nursery

So my little one’s just turned one and he’s starting nursery later this month. His nursery doesn’t offer any basic learning/curriculum at all until 3 years. My baby is quite a fast learner so I was hoping he would pick up new things at nursery like colours and 123.

Is this the case at other nurseries too? They only do singing, interactive/messy play. Am I expecting too much lol

Needing to get out / do stuff with other moms

Yall- I don’t even know where to start .. but as I continue this search for people who share the same interests .. I tend to go backwards I feel like . My husband works 12 hrs most nights one week and 24 the next (goes b&f) . And so I’m usually stuck at home all the time when he works or sleeps to regain rest . I do enjoy going out with my little family , but imo it’s a different feeling when you go out with friends . You feel like you can unwind a bit and not feel so tense or wtv ur feeling . I need some of that more often . And I haven’t been able to accomplish that for me and my baby as much as we’d like to . I can’t drive as of right now and that just makes it even harder … Any ideas or suggestions ladies ??

Follow up to - should I apologise post!

So I didn't apologise.

Since then - My son had a family only bday party and she refused to come because it was a garden party. She messaged half an hour before we were expecting them. She said it wasn't safe in the heat. She was meant to be bringing his cousins and Aunt and Uncle. None of them came. The heat was 28 degrees, cloudy and we had out big gazebos.

She messaged and asked when we were going to reschedule and I said we weren't going to. She then didn't answer and hasnt answered me now for 3 weeks.

I am really struggling to move past this.
I also don't feel like my partner is getting it. He spoke to her and she said the heat isn't safe. I feel really sad about this.
I also feel like she is judging me!

We cannot go to her currently.

What would you do -

Husband.

Every month I go through my husbands phone because earlier this year after he turned 21 we went to the bar to celebrate he got really drunk and started hitting me and stuff telling me he cheated on me and threw his phone at me so I looked through it like any normal person would I didn’t find him talking to other females or anything like that he was watching thirst traps on a burner instagram account he got rid of this account fast forward my whole pregnancy he has been doing this I’ve stated how I felt about it and I told him it will have impact on me him and his child. Do you guys think that it’s because I’m fat ? Ugly or he’s just bored of me.. I need some serious advice do I leave. ( every time I try to leave he guilt trips me and tells me he’s going to kill himself )

Weaning 4 months?

Can anyone give any advice on if they started weaning baby or giving them baby porridge or purred food at 4 months and how it went?

How much are you January babies eating? How many meals are you offering? How much do they ACTUALLY eat from it? Struggling as my girl still isn’t showing much interest in weaning.

I have 6 recipe books for ideas and honestly some of them seem insane to me😂 also BLW genuinely gives me fear. I hate this first starting to eat stage honestly and her not being interested isn’t helping me😩
