Episiotomy healing

I gave birth a week and 2 days ago and out of no where my episiotomy has got infected and I have a gaping hole where the stitches have failed and it’s oozing pus. Maternity triage said no fever so just take some antibiotics and pain killers which feels wild to just leave an open wound?!

Does anyone else have any at home healing tips?

I’m so upset as I feel so limited by my body to care for my newborn 😢

I’m so sorry you’re going through this, wishing you a speedy recovery . Can you book an appointment with your GP and see if they can recommend anything?
Are you using spitz for bitz the witch hazel spray? I found that helped me a lot x

Hey, I am so sorry you’re going through this. It is completely valid that you’re feeling frustrated and upset about being limited right now, especially when you just want to focus on your newborn.

I know it sounds wild to leave it open but if they restitched, it would trap bacteria in and make things worse for you. It is odd but it has to heal from inside out!

Reach out to your GP, they may be able to advise on what more you could do.

It may also be useful to have check-in’s with your GP, midwife or Health Visitor so they’re able to reassure you it is getting better.

Be gentle with yourself - your body has been through a lot and you are doing amazing 💕

Nappies in this heat 😷

Ladies what are we doing with dirty nappies in this heat? I had a separate outdoor bin for them but it f****** stunk! So just throwing them direct into the wheelie bin now but ours only gets collected once every 2 weeks so worried about flies and yes maggots 🤮. What’s everyone else doing?

Crying

Does anyone else cry? 😂 ive cried twice now, baby is 5 week old, so overall that isn't too bad!! But im tired.. she's very much at the stage now where she wakes instantly when i put her down. But I feel guilty for crying because I love my little girl so much and I'm crying because of the sleep deprivation that she's causing.. i always feel better after a cry

Nappies

*UPDATE*
I GOT NAPPIESSSS 🥳🥳🥳
So i am really embarrassed with this, but i have run out of nappies and I have now had to use a teatowel to cover my boy up. Unfortunately, his dad won't be back until 8ish but I do not see a way to take him out to the shops to get one, my question really is, What the fuck do i do? Its not like the shop is close by either.

Talker or mover

Has anyone found their baby was either a talker or a mover? My baby is pulling to stand but really not babbling much at 10 months. He’s has in the past but the last couple of weeks he has been so quiet. Wondering if anyone else’s LO stopped being social whilst learning a new motor skill?

Adult children and minor children together

Hello. Does anyone have experience with adult children moving back home when you also have minor children in the house?
And with an adult child needing to share a bedroom with the minor child(ren)?

I know I'm being sensitive ...

... But it drives me mad when I'm asked what I do when my baby naps during the day. Especially by my mum who asked if I'm "working" or "working out" or something. My baby is now napping no more than 20min so I do small things around the house and that's it. I don't want to feel judged for it. Sometimes I just nap if I can.
Plus he is extremely fussy at the moment so the carrier is not an option (also I am exhausted)
