Has anyone got any advice or tips at all? I'm 29 and I've got two young daughters that are 2 and a half and 8 months.
My job and work history is a bit all over the place due to mental health, my dad dying nearly 4 years ago and having my girls. I didn't do very well at school because I absolutely hated it so my GCSE's were rubbish. After I left school I did childcare level 1 and 2 and passed both of them, got my first job at 18, had a massive panic attack, left after 5 weeks, got another job in another nursery and was there for 5 years when I moved away after meeting my partner during covid.
I've also worked in warehouses and I want to re train completely as I don't want to do childcare anymore. I've recently completed a level 2 health and social care online course at my local college but I'm stuck between this and wanting to become a midwife/maternity support worker.
I'm really stuck on next steps. My partner earns a decent wage and I'm at home with the Kids, we are also on UC. My eldest goes to nursery twice a week but my youngest is only 8 months and I don't want her going to nursery yet. Money is tight so I can't afford to pay for uni, plus I'm not clever enough so I feel stuck. Anyone been in a similar position?

I thought I wasn’t clever enough for university, my school teachers made me feel this way and I ended up graduating with a 1st class and I’m now a university lecturer. I feel like I did better in education as a mature student.
But there are plenty of short government funded courses that you can do online if you wanted to get back into education. Try check the gov website. There are also CPD courses on Reed you can do to add to your CV.

Maybe school subjects just didn’t interest you. You may flourish in something you’re passionate about and something you’re choosing to do
