NOTHING else has changed. Same toothpaste, same brush, same routines, same food. Teeth look so yellow. It’s either another wonderful side effect of postpartum/breastfeeding or the matcha, thought I’d ask to figure it out

I have had 3 pregnancies and have had loads of trouble with my teeth since the start of my first pregnancy. Never had a filling, issue with gums etc in my life. I developed gingivitis in pregnancy, had bad morning sickness and my teeth turned translucent and weakened. The dentist said a lot of women have issues with weakened teeth and enamel during pregnancy and postpartum (hence why we are SUPPOSED to get free dental treatment). I’ve spent £3100 on getting it all sorted so far and counting 🤮

It definitely can be side effect of pregnancy+ breastfeeding. Both takes a lot of calcium out of your teeth and bones and often quicker than you can replenish it. This is why you get free dental in the UK in pregnancy. If you haven't already, I advise a trip to the dentist and consider supplements or diet changes whilst breastfeeding.

So my understanding is that breastfeeding takes calcium from your bones/teeth rather than from your diet, which is why some people lose/chip teeth while BFing. I would try increasing your calcium intake, maybe taking a supplement to replenish your calcium stores.
