Single parents bedtime with 2

Please help me how are we doing this? I have a nearly 3 year old and a nearly 1 year old and every single bedtime is a shit show. My toddler won’t sleep without me next to him and my baby won’t sleep without being rocked, I’m just at breaking point I look forward to my evenings so much it’s the only opportunity I have for me time and I never get chance cause it’s just carnage for hours back and forth between rooms one will wake up when I leave to go to the other and I just can’t take it anymore any tips?

I really don’t have the answer but I’m very interested to see what people say. I have an almost 4yr old and an 8 month old that will only fall asleep on the boob. At bedtime all they want to do is play and rile each other up and I cannot separate them without MAJOR tears. I’ve resorted to giving toddler his tablet once or twice recently until I can get baby to sleep but I’m sure there must be another way 🫠

Could you put their bed/cot in the same room? X

I had a queen floor bed for my toddler and me and the baby would get in that I would rock the baby on side and pat the toddler on the other … he didn’t go down quick and sometimes we all ended up asleep but eventually he went quicker and the baby would fall asleep so then would leave her in the bed for a while with the Camera on so I could do some jobs

How would it work if they were in the same room? I only have one child so take my advice with a pinch of salt. But if each cries when you leave to go to the other, maybe that's the solution. Tbh my 4yo still sleeps in my room but if I am not there in the room with her she is restless and doesn't sleep as well. Are they comforted by you simply being there and not interacting? Sometimes I just sit in the corner of the room and read a book or watch TikTok with my headphones in if my daughter won't sleep, before I go and get on with my evening. Like you I REALLY value my evening "me time" so totally understand

Sometimes I tell my toddler a story while I'm walking around with her baby brother. Just make it up as I go along and it doesn't bother the baby as long as I'm walking around

Mum Guilt

Hi 🫶🏻

Last night I snapped at my 16 month old daughter she was not settling or going to sleep I was exhausted and had work the next morning she eventually fell asleep at 12am she was fighting her sleep for ages. I just got so irritated and snappy I felt like I just had to put her down and leave the room cos of how mad I was getting. Is this normal.

As soon as she fell asleep I cried myself to sleep and I felt so awful for how I had reacted.
:( I still feel it this morning

Feeling judged.. co sleeping

So my relative is having a party soon in the evening and I've sent my apologies. Im breastfeeding and co sleeping my 10 month old. She feeds 3 times in night too. My sisters are being judgemental and making me feel bad saying I can't live my life like this e.g. never going out in the evening etc. I don't actually mind how it is right now. They dont think its right we sleep in bed together and that I NEED to get her in her own room. I feel like lying and telling them she does sometimes just to appease them. Why do people make you feel guilty for doing what works for you. Ive tried to get her in crib but she wont go. I also dont want to give her to anyone for babysitting yet. I don't feel ready. Just wanted to vent really.. feel a bit low
Edit: also only naps on me in day and they again think im being stupid but I am trying

Does it get better?

I am so overwhelmed at the minute. My baby is 12 weeks old and she is so upset for a lot of the day and I don’t know why. I feel like there is no end to this, please say it gets better as they get a bit older 😢

Oh I’m over this heatwave (for my baby)

I kid you not from around 3:30PM today until now (7:10pm) I have been cluster feeding and my son has not come off the breast for more than 10 minutes!

I usually love summer but doing this year with a newborn I’m ready for it to be finished 😭🙅🏾‍♀️
