School lunch ideas?

New to North America, and need to plan school lunches for kids. They’re nervous that they might get picked on if I pack Asian/Indian food. What do parents pack for their kids? Preferably something that I can make easily in the morning

I’m white and so are my kids, and they’ve had no problems taking in curries/dals or sushi/kimbap/onigiri/kimchi/leftover noodle dishes.

Leftover main dish in a thermos + a fruit and a veg with a yogurt/bean/guac dip and maybe a carb based snack is pretty easy to put together in the morning.

I just make sure to pack the lunch portion of leftovers on its own in a microwave safe dish the night before when I’m putting the food away.

I would pack foods that I know they will eat. And you can start having them pick their own snacks and food if your not sure what to do.

I would do a combination of your ethnic cuisine sometimes and also american foods other times.
Kids here take sandwiches, fruit, crackers, chips, etc. Things that can hold up without being refrigerated. I preferr to focus on nutrient dense stuff. Love indian food because its pretty healthy.
I would also encourage your child to embrace culture and heritage. I will be trying to embrace my hubs culture for my lil so she knows who she is and where her people are from!

Not feeling excited..?

I am currently 37 + 2 and labour day is coming soon. I am not feeling very excited tbh, feel sad that my child free days are over, that my life will never be the same again and worrying that I’ll be a bad parent (and an anxious parent too).

I’ve been with my partner for 6 years, we own a house together and generally speaking we have a lot of support however I’m also concerned he isn’t growing up enough because of the support and dependency (from his family) and lack of maturity around what it’s actually going to be like having a baby. I fear he is too positive about it all and to be quite honest that really annoys me.

I’m not sleeping, I don’t feel supported and I am so uncomfortable in this heat. Ironically, the physical aspects of birth don’t worry me too much it’s just everything else!

Can someone please sense check me and tell me everything is going to be okay?!?

How many country's have you visited?

How many countries have you been to?

Before having kids it was a goal of mine to visit every country in the world.

So far I have been to 31 countries. The crazy part is I didn't even have money back then to travel, but some how god or law of attraction made it happen.

Since having a child I haven't travelled much.

I'm just curious what your travel history is like and if travel slowed down after kids.

Would you hire a single mom as a nanny?

She would bring her young kids as well or you could bring your child to her place.

Am I over reacting?

My partner (26 M) has a job where he does 2 early morning shifts 2 late night shifts and then 2 night shifts. Followed then by 4 days off. Which means I care for our baby by myself through the duration of the 6 working days. He may do the odd bottle or nappy change but this is quite rare. On his days off he refuses to do anything, again maybe the odd bottle etc. I’ve told him I feel so burned out and he just carries on just the same with no acknowledgement of my words.

He doesn’t clean, tidy nor cooks. And we still go 50:50 on all the bills.

Before I totally errupt on him am I over reacting should I say something? I don’t know what to do anymore.

Thank ladies :)

Relationship issues

Hello! My partner complains we do get to do stuff for ourselves anymore and that it isn’t “normal”.

Do you let your partner do things by himself while you look after the baby? And then the other way round ?

Many thanks !

Boyfriend takes long 💩

I know by the title alone it might not seem like much. But does anyone else’s boyfriend/husband do this as well? Literally every single time he needs to 💩, it’s anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour and 10 minutes (his longest one, I was curious so I timed it) like bro. Does it really take that long every time?? I’ve looked it up and it says when they do this they have a medical issue and should get it checked. I’ve been with him for 2 years and he’s always done this. Even before getting together people have told me how long he takes in there. I’ve checked through his phone( I know, but whatever) like literally everything. Every app, every deleted messages, every back up I can do, everything and there’s no sign of cheating. So now I’m curious if anyone else’s man literally shits for an hour or if it’s just mine. And does it seem like there’s more he might be doing or just really sitting there for an hour shitting and scrolling TikTok?? Sometimes it drives me crazy bc this morning for example, wakes up later than he usually does, then is now taking his 40 minutes long bathroom break then will have to immediately get ready for work and leave. Like 0 time together before he leaves for work, then when he gets home he always has to smoke and then go shit for another 40 min-1 hour. Like please tell me others have this problem with their partner and it’s not just me.
