Driving after c-section (UK)

Just wondering what others have done/doing? Feel stuck 🙄

I’m almost 4weeks PP. Insurance says as long as doc says I’m medically fit I don’t need to tell them. And DVLA say they don’t need to know as long as recovery isn’t over 3month.

Doc says they don’t know what do to… they asked me to ring DVLA & insurance to ask what they need lol. God sake haha.

I waited the standard 6 weeks. After that you should be golden.

just check with your insurance provider. as long as you can do an emergency stop and not on pain relief that can cause drowsiness you should be fine. I started at 5w pp.

My insurance said the same and my GP said they don't give advice so it was a bit of a catch 22. I practiced a couple of emergency stops on some quiet roads close to my house and then for the next week or so kept any journeys to a max of around 10 minutes. I started driving at around 4 weeks pp.

I’ve been driving at 3 and a half weeks post c section because my recovery has been so good!

I drove when I felt like my scar wasn't hurting from the seat belt and I was confident moving around, was about 5 weeks I think. No one could give me straight answer and when you covered so I just did it!

I just waited 6 weeks, didn't inform my insurance or anything. The GP said if I was comfortable with the seatbelt and could emergency stop without it causing pain then it would be ok from a medical POV

I drove at 4 weeks, probably should have waited until 6 weeks tbh as it was still quite uncomfortable but I didn’t have a choice 😩

Braxton Hicks

What on earth are they suppose to feel like?
I've had moments of light cramps in lower area, right by the pelvis, like period pain. And the belly gets hard but not very uncomfortable.

Are the hicks supposed to be painful?

???

Increased movements @ 40weeks

I have been awake for the last 3 hours with baby moving so much.

I called triage and they not too concerned and it’s up to me if I want to get checked out. But just feels like my baby hasn’t stopped moving so much so it’s kept me awake all night.

I don’t know what to do. I feel like I’m over thinking it. Movement is a good thing right?

Feel rubbish all the time

I can't work out if this is just part of pregnancy or there is something else wrong...

I feel ill all the time, headache, swollen glands in my neck and groin, flu like symptoms...

I'm 24 weeks pregnant, first time mum, IVF pregnancy, I've got gestational diabetes, PCOS, had really bad sickness until about 17 weeks and now it's mostly better but still get nausea sometimes. Struggling with sciatica too. I also have a bad immune system and various allergies and eczema which have all been lots worse since being pregnant. Also getting some insomnia and get a sore throat all through the night (think it's sinus related).

I feel like I'm failing at being pregnant because I'm just so unwell. Like I'm just not tough enough but this doesn't feel like a normal experience based on other pregnant women I've known.

Is this all just normal and part of pregnancy or should I be getting checked to see if there is anything else underlying? Feeling really down about it.

Anyone choosing c-section for personal reasons, how was the process with NHS?

Long story short I am terrified of vaginal labour and birth and always knew I was going to opt in for planned c-section. I have no medical reasons, just personal anxiety. I have been referred to speak to a midwife about birthing options - how should I approach this meeting? I have heard NHS likes to push back heavily on this if you do not have medical reasons, however I know it is MY choice to make. Wondering what attitude I should bring to this meeting.
