ebf and bottles

any exclusively breastfeeding mams thinking of giving a bottle every now and again? I gave my 5 week old a bottle of breast milk last night and he slept for 5hours which is the longest stretch we’ve ever had and i wonder if it was to do with taking a bottle as he had been feeding off me for hours and my boobs had enough and so had i🤦‍♀️ as soon as he finished the 3oz he was flat out, i think if i didn’t give a bottle he would have just kept feeding all night long. im thinking of starting to pump once a day and give a bottle at night time, ive never pumped before ive only used collection cups in my bra when feeding

They go through a growth spurt which helps increase your supply apparently so you need to keep feeding as much as possible. Ive been going through the same thing i know its so stressful! But keep going the more baby sucks the more supply youll have. Also if you need to oump at night/ morning to get some time to yourself pump and feed no harm . A fed baby is a happy baby

pumping does the same thing to your supply as a feed so if it's a 1 for 1 replacement it won't change your supply 🙂 especially if he's feeding for such a long stretch otherwise. we don't ebf we combi feed but have had no problems switching between breast and bottle at 4 weeks if it helps x

I do ☺️ I feed from the boobs during the day and me/partner will give him a bottle either before bed or in the middle of the night. I like to pump for bottles as well for when visitors are round or when I pop out. I’m not confident boob feeding in front of people yet. It hasn’t affected my supply at all, I do a morning or midday pump and then a nighttime one x

I do 😊 allows my husband to feed our little man as well and gives me a bit of a rest. We found a bottle before his bedtime gives us a good 4-6 hours of sleep before he needs a nappy change or another feed. I also pump 3 or 4 times spread over the day and I'll wake up to pump overnight to make sure my supply isn't impacted 😊

How to settle night wakings without feeding

My EBF baby responds very well to feeds overnight to fall straight back asleep after waking. I’m conscious this isn’t a long term solution and we need a way of settling him without feeding.

He won’t take a dummy, patting/ hand on chest/shushing etc in crib doesn’t settle him. If I get him out of his crib he’s still distressed and I have to walk around with him for a long time and often still end up needing to feed him to get him back to sleep.

It’s especially hard at night as i also need my sleep and it’s far easier and quicker to quick feed and back to sleep.

Any advice on how I can settle overnight without the feeds?

Sleeping on your back

Hi guys, I've been told so many different things about ways of sleeping. I try to sleep on my left but I always find I sleep on my back. Is this ok?

Grunting, straining, red faced… HELP

my little one is just over 3 weeks and honestly I think he spends every night from 3am onwards grunting, straining, stretching his legs out and passing wind until about 6am. The only way he will sleep is if he is on my tummy down as this seems to give him comfort but it’s hard for me to not fall asleep when this happens! We have taken him to the doctors and they said he’s just a baby basically🤷‍♀️ he poos fine, passes wind throughout the night all night, burps after every feed I just cannot work out why he does it! Please can I have some advice or at least someone who is in the same boat 😭😭

17 month old not walking

My son has just turned 17 months and still isn’t walking, he can crawl, pull himself up on things & cruise along furniture. He’s also able to take a few steps if we play a game of back & fourth but gives up quite quickly.

I think he may be double jointed, I’ve spent far too long on Google & im really concerned / starting to not sleep because of it.

Has anyone had any positive outcomes?
I feel like I’m not doing enough etc 😩

Car seat issues

Help!! My daughter screams badly EVERY time I put her in the car seat. It causes me so much aniexty to take her out, I feel so trapped at the moment as don’t want to take her out because of it. It’s like a bad scream to the point where she’s sweating due to getting so worked up. This panics me so I always pull over to calm her down and put her back in. Has anyone had anything similar and can offer some advice? Thanks so much x x
