Anyone else in a similar boat as me? So my kids have pretty much one grandparent (my mom) that they know of and have relationships with. Their dad’s dad passed way before they were born and his mom is (not a good person… long story but I don’t feel like she’s safe) and my dad has been distant forever… zero interest. My mom is lovely she cares deeply BUT she lives 10 hours away in another state so we do texting, FaceTime and send packages in the mail. I miss her 😞
But anyway long story short but it’s so hard for me to be out most days because I see all these active grandparents at stores and parks just being involved with their grandkids and I want that so fucking bad for my kids (sorry for the swearing I can’t help it it’s what I do 😆) sometimes I see grandparents being very stern and I wanna walk up and say “enjoy your time with them because it’s not forever!!!! STOP BEING MEAN Theyre a child” but I don’t…
I have vivid memories of LOVING going to my grandparents house…. I have 3 siblings and cousins and we all took turns for days over the summers going to campsites in their RV or even just sleepovers at their house. Birthday parties…. Holidays… everything was so special. I feel like burning bridges while it’s good for ME because my family is just not good people. I’ve not realized it as a kid, but I see it now.
Am I robbing my kids of a good childhood because I’ve distanced myself? I have a lot of guilt as a mom. But at the same time I’ve been hurt over and over again and I can’t shake the awful things that people have said about me or my oldest son. People try to tell me they don’t “remember” saying this or that but I know I’m not crazy. Dishonesty is a big thing for me especially with those people being the ones you are blood related to. and I don’t want my kids to be around people that don’t value the same thing.

I tried to word things in my head so hopefully nothing about my post comes off the wrong way. I’m just sad and tired and want the best for my kids. Grandparents are very special and people are lucky to have them for the time that they are here. I am just sad that I can’t give my kids the same experiences that I had at their age. We ran into my father at a funeral and I hadn’t seen him in a few years. My kids knew him when they were super little and the fact that they didn’t recognize him just punched me in the gut.

Yup I could of wrote this myself my mom died in May my whole ass family sucks my sons birthday was yesterday..
This was my Facebook post.
First child's birthday with out my parents to call them...
Why does this bother me so much? Because we have zero family it's literally always been that way...
And the other set of grandparents could give a fuck less if my kids breath or not....
Fuck Mom I miss you 😪
Do your kids need a kick ass Aunt?
I’m going out tomorrow with friends, my partner and their partners for a bottomless brunch. I found a nice top to wear but my partner got angry and said I couldn’t wear it because I “don’t need to have my boobs out.” I then chose a square neck top but he pulled a face about that too so to keep the peace I’ve now settled on wearing a T-shirt.
I spoke to my friends and they’re all wearing lovely tops, including corset-style/square-neck tops. I asked my partner if I could wear something similar but he said I should wear something “respectable” and that the tops I showed him would “piss him off.”
Now I feel like I’m going to be really underdressed and I don’t know what I can wear that he’ll approve of.
He’s also said he doesn’t want other men looking at me but I can’t help feeling uncomfortable with that when I’ll be sitting there while he’s looking at other women who are wearing revealing clothes. I’ve tried talking to him but it just causes a row.

We were at a children's party the other day (5 year olds) a little girl hit/pushed my daughter in the stomach ( I saw it and told the little girl "No you dont hit" she ran off.
My daughter was very upset.
About 40 minutes later the little girl ran over and said sorry to my daughter.
Her dad mum was there this time and asked me what she was saying sorry for I told her because she pushed my daughter in the stomach.
The mum just said " oh well thats what kids do at that age" and then carried on talking to someone else!
If that was me I would have apologized

Send help and advice please!
My 6 month old is a high maintenance baby. He does this awful constant whine if he’s not got attention or being stimulated which is incredibly stressful on its own. Add a 2 year old into the mix who also needs a lot of attention and stimulation, I feel like i’m drowning. My 2 year old is having behavioural issues (hitting, throwing etc.) because he’s not getting his energy out. Our days are spent in the house, as my 6 month old hates the pushchair and carrier. I feel so bad for my 2 year old, he has so much energy to get out and he’s not able to indoors. I don’t know what to do
Baby only sleeps 20 minutes at a time so we can’t get a good chunk of time to let that energy out

My husband loves to argue with our 5 year old son. He called him a big baby because he likes to sleep in our room and not in his own bed. He constantly treats our son like shit bc our son is “mean” well he’s not gonna change unless he changes but he thinks it’s the opposite way around. Childish or no??

Me and my partner are in the process of buying our first home. We have only viewed the property once at the start of our journey when we were viewing multiple properties at a time. Now we are official in the buying process and are quite close to the end, our survey report listed a few problems and advised us to get inspections done and view the pretty again before we finalise the purchase (this was only yesterday we received the results, I made an entire list of things we need to raise with the solicitor and things to look into but my partner didn’t even read it yet) .
I received an email just now from the estate agent confirming a viewing booking for us of the property, my partner has booked another viewing for next week without mentioning to me. He is now telling me he is going with a specialist contractor to view and that I can’t go. It’s not a question, he is telling me I’m not going.
I have said I want to go, because I would like to view the property again (all things considered like redecorating etc it’s helpful to view again know we are actually buying this one). I’ve told him I won’t disturb him with the contractor and that I’ll do my own thing but he’s adamantly told me I am not coming.
I can’t understand why he has a problem with me coming. He is telling me that if I want to view it then he will book a 3rd viewing for us to go, but I have said what’s the point of doing that when I can just go along to the viewing next week when he’s already going there??
Even when I asked who the contractor is he didn’t give me a real answer, he told me ‘some guy’ and I asked the name and he still didn’t give me an answer and just laughed and said ‘do you think it’s a woman?’

Any one else feel like sometimes their child is happier to see their dad? I was off on maternity leave for 5 months and my husband worked 7-7 . So I thought sometimes my son was so happy to see my husband because he rarely got to see him, compared to he sees me every waking moment. Now that I’m back to work though, I feel like he just has a bigger happier reaction when he sees his dad in the morning or when he comes home compared to seeing me . This may sound childish , but it just makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong .
