Breastfed bottle refusal

I haven’t used a bottle of breastmilk in months for my baby because I haven’t needed too. I wanted to see if he would still take it as I am away with him and my friends next month and fancied a drink. He has just completely rejected the bottle, the Philips Avent and also Mam bottle. I am trying him with an open cup for water but I know that takes a long time. I don’t go back to work until a few weeks before he turns 1 so he is going to need to take pumped breast milk from my husband before he can have cows milk drink at 1. I am thinking if he can use a cup he could have his milk from that. Has anyone got any advice or recommendations please?

I’m in the same boat with my 4 month old. I’ve tried everything, including sippy cups but she still refuses.

Have you tried having your husband or someone other than you feeding him? Make sure you’re not in the room as he’ll be able to smell you and may refuse due to this.

Open cup for water doesn’t take a long time it’s worth giving it a shot my daughter did it first try at exactly 6 months old, she didn’t like the sippy cup she was getting frustrating and biting it (EBF baby) x

Weve had the same with our 4 month old and we’re working through a baby led bottle refusal plan at the moment which seems to be working! Main things that have helped us so far are:

- using the bottle teat during play to get him used to it and create a positive association. We have the lansinoh ones and pop them in the o ball so he call put it to his mouth himself and suck it with no pressure to drink milk etc.
- once he was comfortable with this (few times a day doing this over about a week) we introduced a bottle with about half an oz of freshly pumped milk with the teat warmed up and dipped in the milk. We do it when he’s about half an hour before a feed so he’s not starving or aggy yet.
- feeding in a forward facing position so back against our chest and bopping around so he can look around

We’ve been doing this about 2 weeks and he has started drinking an oz or so at a time so not full feeds yet but miles better than before he was screaming when the teat went near his mouth!

Contact naps

At what age do contact naps become less regular? Don’t get me wrong, I love how serene he looks and love that he feels safest with me and 75% of the time it’s actually nice to just sit down with him and enjoy the moment. However, there are some days where I just feel a little drained from the constant-ness of it and I feel like I’m trying to get things done/look after my needs in his wake windows when he’s happy to go in his chair and watch me but then feel terrible for the lack of interaction with him where he’s my sole focus and tummy time, etc.

Soo, what are we doing with our babies?

Morning everyone! Just wondering what a typical day looks like for you? How often is your baby on a play mat or in a bouncer etc?

I'm not really sure what my wake windows should look like and how long she should spend in my arms or on her play mat etc Per wake window / day.

Nursing Chairs

Hey everyone! I wonder whether I can get some people’s opinions on nursing chairs.. Are they worth it? Do you actually use them? ☺️

Please help 😢

I need help and I need help fast. I am struggling mentally so badly.

My 14 month old is going to bed at 7pm every night and wakes around 10pm, 1pm which I cannot settle him without a bottle so he’ll have the bottle (cows milk) then go back to sleep.

He wakes up around 4am, I have tried more milk to see if he’ll go back to sleep but he won’t.

I am completely exhausted and drained and mentally broken trying to understand what im doing so wrong. I’m the one doing all feeds and wake ups as baby dad is pure useless.

Baby has 2 naps per day totalling 2 hours as a whole. I’ve tried cutting his naps down but him himself is also shattered from such a broken night.

I am NOT here to be judged, if you’re going to be a Karen do it on your own life, I need help and that’s all please x
