Breast pumping?

Hi all, question to mums out there who were/are exclusively pumping. When is it a good time to stop? I know everyone is different. However, my baby (4weeks) is currently comby feeding and she will have formula and pumped breast milk in a bottle. I know that the breast milk has a lot of good nutritions but having to pump up to 8 times a day can be a bit challenging. When do you know it's time to start reducing the pumping sessions and eventually stop? FYI my milk supply is not amazing so I usually get about 70-80ml per pump

My completely open and honest answer is stop when you want to stop. I started to wean off pumping at 4 weeks when my husband went back to work as trying to pump, feed, change, clean bottles and get baby to nap just left me with absolutely 0 time (and mental capacity). Every baby is different but mine actually became much happier when moved to formula and I also was happier as I had more time. Feel free to message me lovely and we can chat some more. Make sure if/when you do stop, you wean off slowly as mastitis/blocked ducts can be a killer! Xxx

I don’t pump anymore, my baby is one next month and I exclusively pumped for 5 months. I stopped because it was too difficult to fit pumping in around baby care the older he got. I did and still do however have enough breast milk stored in the freezer until he is one. So I did find that made it easier to stop earlier than I had hoped for. By the time I stopped I was honestly so relieved, it felt like I had some freedom back.
When you are ready to stop just bare in mind it can feel really emotional and that’s totally normal xx

I’m on month 6 of exclusively pumping and my plan was to get to 3 months and reevaluate, then it was 6 and now I’m just going month by month - mainly because now he’s weaning my hope is the pumping will be less
You’re in the absolute hardest part right now because your supply is still establishing, personally, once I had established my supply I was able to drop the number of pumps and still get the same amount over the day which made things easier
But I absolutely second the ladies above, it’s a lot, and I cut a lot of corners to make it possible (like putting pumps in the fridge and only sterilising one or twice a day, usually wearables etc) which I know but everyone would be comfortable with! Do whatever it’s right for you, your baby won’t remember if it’s gotten breast or formula x

When does it get better

This is so hard. Witching hour is more like ‘5 hours’ and sometimes is just off and on all day. It’s so stressful and I feel so helpless some days. She screams and it goes right through me. I’m lucky that it’s not crying non stop like colic, it’s off and on, but it’s still horrendous. We’re at at 10 weeks, does it ever change???
