New born sleep

My baby is 20 days old and I can’t really put him down for even a second without waking him up during the day and same at night. He’s been sleeping in our bed because that’s how wr can get a little rest but I would love to get at least 2 hours of bassinet freedom to hug my husband.

What's worked for my sister - who also had a boy, is having the white noise machine on with a recording of your voice shooshing and wrapping him super tight up top. She also tried to keep him awake during the day so he'd be wiped by night time. 😴 Can't promise it'll always work but with consistency she found this really helpful!

My baby was a colic and Velcro baby. What helped was complete darkness and white noise Cotton Sky Folds(white noise) on Apple Music was stuck on replay when I put him down. Also swaddling played a big part.

Mental health with children

Hi, I am a single mum to three children (3, 5 & 7). I don’t have much family support & I don’t have friends. I am really struggling with my mental health at the moment. I know you’re not medical professionals but I’m very isolated and alone and I think having other mums advice would just help me. Iv had a lot go off in my life from my children’s dad who I was with for 8 years and split up 4 months ago. I never lived on my own before him, I went from living with my parents straight to getting a new place with him. Now 8 years later I’m in a new place on my own with my three children and I’m finding things tough. He isn’t involved in their life anymore which was his own decision.
I am overwhelmed all the time, stressed all the time, I have no patience. My mindset is so low and negative all the time. I hate everything about myself. I hate my life and how it’s turned out. I feel angry at the world and for making wrong decisions. My self esteem is the lowest it could be.

I have spoken to my gp who told me to self refer to counselling therapy. I did this but it’s a 9 month waiting list. I’m on the list but I just can’t imagine going another 9 months feeling the way I do. I couldn’t be completely honest with my gp in detail as I worry they’ll get social involved. I had the worse experience when I had postnatal depression with my first child 7 years ago and they got social involved and it made my life hell, no support at all except judgement and it made my mental health so much worse, I’d never trust them again.

I just want to feel happy again. I want to enjoy life again, enjoy spending time with my children. I feel like iv failed them and I feel like iv given up. I don’t know who I even am anymore. I’m just their mum. I miss being me.

Are there any support sites or apps that you know about…9 months seems so long when I’m struggling so much now.

Thank you if you’ve read this.

Genuine Question About Tracking

How many of you tracked feeds, sleep, and diapers vs just feeding on demand (bottle or breast) and following baby's cues? For those that tracked - may I ask why/ if it helped in some specific way?

Other children being nasty.

I don’t know if it’s just me being sensitive but whenever we go to the park, my 3 year old will try to make friends and almost every time they’ll say ‘you can’t play with us’ or ‘I don’t want to play with you’ and they’ll be nasty to him. This can happen a few times during the same hour sometimes and it actually really starts to bother me. He brushes it off but it’s sitting with me hard. His sister is only 7 months old and we don’t have many other friends his age to go on play dates with. I’m not sure if it’s just because the kids are already doing their thing in their own group of friends or what. Is this normal? Does this happen to your child too? I can’t bare it makes me not want to take him to the park anymore😭

The worst BF & Pumping Journey…

So my son is two weeks & five days old. When he was born I was exclusively breastfeeding him in the hospital for about two days then a nurse came in and gave him a pacifier (I wasn’t aware of the damage that thing could cause my journey) he continued to feed up until we got home and he fed one time then just completely rejected my boob…. I went into panic mode and tried to express milk so he wouldn’t go hungry but of course my milk hadn’t fully come in just yet so I only got colostrum and gave that to him. I then decided to combo feed (formula and BM) until I could get him back on the boob and until my supply increased… during my first pump I got about 4 oz and was really excited until my supply dropped… I haven’t seen a 4 oz day since. I have tried everything to increase my supply but I’m not getting anything more than an oz sometimes less…. I even got a lactation specialist who has tried to help me and my son. Come to find out, my son has lip and tongue ties that are making it harder for him to latch and now i think he just doesn’t want to try the boob.. I continue to try but tbh this is becoming mentally draining and emotionally exhausting feeling like I cant produce for my baby… I really want him to have breast milk but its starting to look like my son is going to be formula fed which breaks my heart honestly…. Today I tried to pump for almost an hour and got just about an ounce of milk out and guess what…my mom accidentally wasted it all on the couch and I’m just OVER IT!

Co sleeping

Going through 4 month regression and I’m so tired. I want to co sleep but my baby was born at 36 weeks. So the advice is not to co sleep. I don’t know what to do
