This is a bit of a sad post but wondering of anyone has been in a similar position as dont know what to do. My dad got diagnosed with cancer and July and weve been told there is nothing more they can do. Its all happened insanely fast. My 2.5 year old loves my dad and they were always out in the garden doing things together. He keeps asking where my dad is as he has been in hospital a while but should be coming home soon. I dont know how to handle this with him, should I tell him when he eventually dies or do I say he wont see him anymore. I know its best to be clear with children but hes still so young. Its so difficult! Wondering if anyone has been in a situation like this or has any advice? Thank you

Its difficult. I had the talk with my almost 3 year old when her grandad passed and i say, we wont be able to see grandad anymore, hes in the sky, but you can still talk to him, all you neee to do is look at the sky. She now sits in the garden talking to him and i'll leave her little signs that hes noticed them ( a note, balloon) just saying, i see you talking to me x

It's very hard, but children thus young can't comprehend death so won't be upset the same way. I am sorry for whatbyouvare going through currently xx Certainly being clear is the best way. I would say as you probably are, that he is in the hospital because he's poorly. When someone dies I would say they are up in the sky and we can't see them but they can hear us and we can talk to them x it all obviously depends on your beliefs. My little one is just starting to comment on photos of his older brother who we lost to cancer 3.5 years ago aged 5. We will and do tell him that he's in heaven but can hear us if we want to talk to him x

I’m so incredibly sorry that you’re going through a difficult time I wish you all the healing and take time to grieve I understand how confronting this is for you.
We found a book to help us explain about death and what that means we used a book called something very sad happened by Bonnie Zucker I got it from Amazon . They also have a book called where did my sweet grandfather go by Lauren Flake off Amazon .We also reinsuring our child that they are safe it’s just that death is apart of our lives we also told our toddler he has gone somewhere far away but we can’t visit him for a long time.
I hope that my book suggestions are any help for you xx.
I hate my life!!!
I love my daughter and I do love my partner but my god he is so fucking lazy.
I know he works hard for us but why does everything have to fall on me to do as im a stay at home mum
I dont get breaks, my family isnt close by but my partners family live 10 mins away and they barely help and dont take any notice of our daughter
Im pregnant with our second and i dont know if im happy about it or really even want the baby even though we was trying for the baby.
My partner doesnt know how to cook, never cleans or knows how to do washing, his mum did everything for him, she said its cause she loves her kids but that doesnt help them in the future, he cant even pick up after himself, his bedside table is full of cans and stay for months until I get fed up and clean them cause he never does it cause hes never had to. I thought living together after 2 years he'd learn to change but he is still the same and im exhausted
im left to do everything even with our daughter she is 15 months old and he has given her a bath about 10 times and has moaned everytime ive asked him to do it
I just dont know how I'm going to cope with the second baby, I dont really have any friends and I dont leave the house often as we live in a little village with rubbish transport and i dont drive so nothing is close by.
Ive jusy had an argument with my partner and saod I was going to bed early and left him with our daughter and within 10 mins hes brought her up to our bed as she isnt sleeping in her room and sleeps in our bed
I don't even get 10 minutes to myself 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Hi all - it’s 4am and I’m crying over feeling guilty for leaving children so late in life (40). It’s my biggest regret, but it wouldn’t have been the right time for me any earlier. My baby is 6 months.
I’m feeling guilt that my child potentially will only have me until their 40s, maybe 50. That I’ll leave this earth while he still needs his mother. I’m being stupid because I can’t do anything about it.
Anybody in the same boat with any words of wisdom?

My husband and I have a 6 month old and both work full time on opposite schedules. We dont get a lot of time together, so I thought that when he came home early, we would hang out, I would get a little break before having to watch the baby the rest of the night so he can do work stuff. So why does he spend the majority of the time we have very little of, to lay in bed and look at his phone. Over an hour. That could have been spent with his wife and child. I just dont want to have to ask to be seen. I want him to want to spend his time with us, not because I ask him to. If he doesn't think of us, are we really that important to him in the first place? If I have to ask him to hang out with me, what's the point of him even being here for the extra couple hours that we got? I dont know. Am i reading too much into this?

Does anybody else / has anybody started to resent their partner?
We have 2 babies 11 months apart, he does 4 on 4 off at work, (2 days & 2 nights) anyway, I’ve started to not like him being around him or anything. For the fact of I do everything for the kids with no help.. he never gets up with them, brings them out for the day, lets me have a break even for a few hours.. I can’t remember the last time I was able to breath on my own 😆. (Btw I love being a mam!) but it would be nice to have a little help.. I feel like a single mum in a relationship with there dad 😆

I know this is petty but I have this one friend that is forever going on about how lucky I am, how nice it must be, and making envious comments about me staying home. I get it, I am lucky in some respects, but I also made a lot of sacrifices, and my job is hard too. I made the choice I did because I genuinely believed it was the best thing for me and my baby, but my god is it difficult, and I can't help but feel like she's minimising that. I've worked hard to get to the point where I could stay home, and it's not like I'm going to brunch and doing pilates over here either. Maybe I'm just being bitchy, but it does rub me the wrong way.

So I have a 1yr old little boy and due another in December. The age gap was a lot smaller than what we had in mind originally but of course went along with it and we’re so excited for our next baby. However. When we found out we were having another so soon both me and my partner said this would be it as it’s such a short space and of course will take up our next few years!
But.
I can’t help but feel sad about this being my last pregnancy. I don’t want it to be. I’ve hinted and joked about having another in the future and my partner positively shuts it down and says we’re not having anymore. I know I haven’t had this one yet but I can just feel that I’m not done, however I’d never want to force that onto my partner either. I’m 27 in April and didn’t want anymore babys after 30 originally so do you think maybe he could change his mind over time? 2 under 2 is a lot to process especially when it wasn’t the plan but I feel like once things are settled and we’re into routine I see no reason why not 🥹☹️😅
