FLUCLOXACILLIN- c section wound

mine took about 4/5 days to properly calm down i think

Personally it did nothing for me and just gave my baby a bad belly! I have to say though, I found trimming hair as short as possible with something clean and obviously not too close to the wound really helped with my healing.

I’m on day 3 and I can’t say I’ve seen a huge difference.. I am still waiting for my swabs to come back to confirm I’m on the right antibiotics.

I find that mine is still oozing a bit and still smells. I try to air it as much as possible but it’s very hard with the over hang and how swollen my tummy is still. Everywhere inside just feels bruised all over

My incision was also infected despite following the cleaning instructions i had 4 lots if antibiotics and some didn’t suit i kept being sick i had liquid form in the end and a cream for the sweat rash as it was in the heat wave all
Healed now though although my tummy is still numb in places and feel tender and bruised on the inside.
Keep going back if your not happy

I had a weeks course of the same. I was told to keep it covered using dressing pads as it would stop anything else getting into it further. I bought c-section dressings on Amazon, and basically after a shower I’d lay down, use my hairdryer to dry the area (on the cool setting obvs) and place the new dressing on so when I stood up it was like tucked into the overhang I had. Changed daily for a week and it really helped, I have a lovely scar now unfortunately the overhang remained😂

Do you have a feeding pillow? This may help cushion baby when breastfeeding- I got mine in Tkmaxx for around £12 in the baby section.

The sensitivity is the worst part, it does get better but I’m 8 months pp and I still get twinges. Once healed, you can start desensitising the area. There’s load of guides online, but I tried with a clean makeup brush first and then scar massage. It seems to have helped, it’s mostly unexpected touches that will irritate me these days🤍
