Why does every post about breastfeeding get full of comments like "fed is best" and reasons why people couldn't breastfeed??
Sorry but do you think breastfeeding is easy? Like just because im breastfeeding is must have had a baby that just hopped on, no pain, smooth birth?
I couldn't breastfeed day 1, used formula to top up for a few days and coped with horrible pain to do it because breastfeed is best. I will do whatever is best for my babies and that is breastfeeding.
It was never the easiest and hurts everyone to start. Stop saying you couldn't when you just chose not to. Some people can't post mastectomy or adoption etc but for alot of those that posted. They could and made a choice. You don't need to go around saying "fed is best" to diminish the hard work, pain and hours that have gone in to a breastfeeding mums journey.

Its ok to choose not to? You are entitled to your opinion but there's no need to attack others who don't share it with you. Fed is best is true especially if Mum's mental health is at risk. Nobody is demeaning breastfeeding by saying fed is best.

A tale as old as time. It’s either deep rooted misogyny in women or jealousy. I said what I said and I stick by it. As a woman, if you cannot accept and appreciate that another woman has poured literal blood sweat and tears into feeding their child and instead want to make it about yourself or diminish how hard breastfeeding truly is, then you’re weird.
Fed is bare minimum. Breastmilk has been proven time and time again to be superior but that doesn’t make women who cannot physically breastfeed their children bad people.
People nowadays are offended by facts but that’s just the world we live in. Facts don’t care about people’s feelings lmao.
There’s some very bitter and uneducated women around! I think we should start teaching about biology in schools again.

You’re so funny … 🤣 ! Such a hypocrite ..

**no ill intent in this comment**
I’ve been EBF for 5 months and it is sooo hard and has taken a toll on my mental health at different times, but I chose to keep going.. I really understand and appreciate why some people stop (varying reasons).
Breast feeding is something I REALLY wanted to do, not everyone can/wants to and that’s why we are blessed to have choice ☺️
I see and hear you mama that posted this, it is hard and sometimes I also feel like sometimes people (mainly my husband and brothers etc) don’t understand how hard it is - but also, I chose this😅

Controversially, breastfeeding isn’t something I wanted to do. It just kinda happened when the midwives put baby on my boob and 16 months later were still breastfeeding BUT I agree, fed is best. It’s no one’s business what other people do. The saying goes “in a classroom full of children, you can’t tell which ones were breastfed but you tell which one were read to.” No one is saying breastfeeding is easy. As others have said, it’s ok to choose not to. It isn’t illegal to not breastfeed 😅

I found breastfeeding so easy my milk dropped after having to go hospital at 8weeks and unfortunately couldn’t anymore as there wasn’t enough and as baby was getting topped up with formula it just kept dropping would get nothing out of pumping after buying countless breast pumps to establish supply if I could still breastfeed i absolutely would me and baby both enjoyed it and I felt proud of myself for doing it but formula I find is harder expensive and takes up so much time washing sterilising etc than breastfeeding I recently tried to see if baby woukd latch and now that he has teeth he is biting and it hurts so bad! So to the mums who breastfeed past 5mo well done because the pain of getting bitten is awful and totally put me off even trying again

I ‘couldn’t’ breastfeed my twins - broke my heart however this time around I was equipped with an incredible amount of information and support through the breastfeeding specialists and have exclusively breastfed this time around. Previously I did believe ‘fed is best’ however after all the research i know now breast is always best. Hardest bloody thing you’ll ever do but absolutely incredible. I think more women need to be better supported as it’s not easy when you don’t know how. Moving forward I personally would never give formula to my babies however I don’t judge others for how they feed their children or anything else for that matter we’re all just trying to survive most of the time 🤣❤️

You can celebrate yourself without tearing others down. Who cares if someone else could, couldn't, chose not to, whatever. The vast majority of people know that breastfeeding has more benefits than formula feeding. But that doesn't mean that formula feeding is in any way wrong or bad. I breastfed for over 2 years. The first 3/4 months of that there was a cloud over me. My daughter had an operation at 1 day old and I felt like breastfeeding was the only thing I could do for her. I killed myself and tanked my mental health pumping to bring in supply, keep my supply and continue to feed her. If I could go back I would tell myself it was OK to look at other options. It was OK to prioritise my mental health, happiness and enjoyment of motherhood. If there wasn't so much pressure to breastfeed I would likely have been kinder to myself and combi fed/given up pumping. And that would have been an absolutely valid choice.

The thing is, I don’t necessarily disagree with the premise of what you’re saying however, it’s this attitude that you are putting out there that is the reason why formula mums get defensive over breastfeeding posts.
They feel they have to justify why they didn’t breastfeed.
Hi mummas, I’m just wondering if anyone else feels this way since becoming a mum.
How do you feel when it comes to receiving advice from family, friends or other people about your baby and the way you parent?
I completely understand that most people mean well, and sometimes advice can genuinely be helpful. But I’ve noticed that when I’m constantly being told what I should or shouldn’t be doing, or hearing things like “you should do this,” “try this,” or “I used to do it this way,” I can start to feel really frustrated and overwhelmed.
Sometimes I don’t necessarily want advice—I just want to be able to talk about something without feeling like I need to change what I’m doing. I also feel like constantly hearing other people’s opinions can sometimes make you second-guess yourself as a mum, even when you were originally confident in your own decision.
I’m curious whether other mums feel the same way. Do you usually appreciate advice and take it on board, or do you sometimes find yourself becoming frustrated by it? Have you found that becoming a mum has made you want more space to figure things out for yourself and trust your own instincts?
No judgement either way—I’d genuinely love to hear how other mums feel about this.

We dint let our MIL know that we were expecting our second one.But she planned her vacation around my due date and she is here with us from day one of our baby. She already complained twice to my husband that i am not letting her to hold my baby. This was when the baby was just 7 days old.She is not helping me with anything else , but interested in holding the baby all the time.I told her it will be helpful if you can free up some of time with cooking and housework, so i can spend more time with the baby.We do have a three year old who is going to daycare M-F, she is least interested in playing or engaging with him.Since the baby is two weeks old today, i was keeping her on the Momaroo baby swing near to my husband office, baby started crying and within a minute MIL rushed and tried to take her from the swing.I was near to swing patting her and my husband was watching us.I told her no need to hold the baby now and she just left and i can see that she was grumpy already, noticing that husband told me to give baby and i tried and she said no need.

My MIL smells my kids feet every time we go over! She will do it in the most random of times and I think it’s odd behavior! She will also eat something that they took a bite out of every-time as well and again I think that’s odd behavior, she goes out of her way to do those things every-time we see her! Anyone else know someone who does this?? My kids are 2 and 6 btw.

Hello!
Due to various reasons we had to start feeding our baby with formula from birth - the main one was my milk coming in late. Ofc, baby got used to the bottle. I have been pumping and feed him expressed milk
Has anyone managed to get back to breastfeeding after bottle e feeding for a considerable amount of time? (2 months in our case)?
If you used a lactation consultant, was it successful? And how many sessions did it take?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

I'm hoping for a bit of reassurance or some solidarity! My son is just over 9 months and doesn't babble and doesn't seem to know his name although this is variable amoung family members. Certainly for me its massively inconsistent. He is working really hard on crawling..lots of rocking and also sitting from crawling and crawl from sitting. He is also trying to pull up. He is generally quite a quiet kid. He does scream, squeals, coo and lots of ahhhs! Uhs and raspberries. Any similar experiences? X
