Does anyone else feel like they’re just not the mum they thought they’d be?
I feel like I took getting pregnant so seriously, I knew I’d have to be patient and caring etc etc. I thought I absolutely can be those things and I’m ready to do it!
And I think really I am patient and caring and 9/10 I’d do the right thing and help people, but being a mum and there not being a choice of whether to care and be patient and instead having to be these things allllll the time just does my head in! It’s just exhausting to care all the time but I don’t feel like I can let up because what if i fuck him up?!
I’m 6 months in and I just find myself bored of trying to entertain the baby all the time, but if I don’t he just screams and cries and I just feel my patience massively dwindling - I’m just a bit disappointed in myself for acting/feeling this way 😫 I thought I’d take to it a bit more naturally!

Awh I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling like this! You sound like a wonderful mum! It's really difficult to imagine what being a mum entails before having children. But when I read your post, it immediately took me back to being 6 months postpartum, because for some reason 6 months hit me hard! I suddenly felt really down and started questioning everything, and I was annoyed because I felt like it was too late to have the 'baby blues'.
I'm sure you're doing amazingly! Sometimes thoughts aren't facts and maybe there's something similar like with me at play in your mind at the moment! Xx

Don’t worry, I was literally having this conversation with my sister yesterday saying that I’m absolutely exhausted and not from lack of sleep, but from constantly having to be “on”. I took downtime for granted before and now I have none, I’m drained.
Also, babies are a bit boring sometimes. I think you probably are a natural and this is actually quite normal.
I absolutely love my boy to death, but when he’s whining at me for the 1000th time in a day because he wants to stand up or he’s pulled himself onto his front but doesn’t want to be on his front despite easily being able to get himself out of it, it gets a bit jarring.
I don’t wish this time away at all as I know I’ll never get to experience him being this little again but it’s going to be so fun when he’s walking, talking and becomes a proper little person.

100% told myself when I was younger that I would be a ‘certain kind of mum’ - absolutely 100% not that kind of mum but my boy is loved, cared for and is happy and that’s all that matters!
It’s so easy to have an ideal way of patenting in your mind before the actual realities of being a mum hit!
I’m a teacher and had 30 kids in my care all day, every day before having my son and had the most patience ever… fast forward to me dealing with 1 toddler tantrum and I wonder where all that patience went sometimes.
Please don’t be hard on yourself x
Hi Mamas, I am switching from working mom life to SAHM life this fall. Specifically it will be at the end of October. My son is 17 months now and will be 19 months when I am fully stay-at-home parenting.
Picture shared of my little guy trying on sunglasses as tax :)
1. What unexpected advice would you give me for this period now while I am still employed?
2. How would you handle the daycare to stay at home switch for my son's sake? 1 week of 3-4 days at day care, 1 week of 1-2 days, and then done? Slower transition?
3. On the scale of super regimented routine to absolute chaos, each day is different -- where are you? Is it by choice? What works and doesn't work with that style? Some moms swear by chaos and others swear by routine.
4. For moms who have made the switch when their little one was between 1 and 2, please tell me all the good, bad, and ugly about the switch.
5. We have a zoo pass and a museum pass (both gifts). What other kid friendly passes do you recommend?
6. What is the financial life saver trick that you swear by as a SAHM?
7. If anyone wants to be my SAHM mentor, please message me... I'm excited but nervous!

Got the below text from my babysitter. We're trying to work on potty training, but what is the best way to handle this, without him having to wear long pants since we live in Florida and it's HOT down here! He's 26 months and I also have a 7 month old that she watches during the day

I didn’t mean to, it was on impulse and I feel terrible. I was trying to change her diaper and she was thrashing and kicking me. Next thing I knew, I smacked her bare butt. She’s 20 months old and I know the behaviors that have been irritating me are normal for her age. I’ve had such a short fuse and been short on patience this last week and I don’t know how to fix it. I’m looking for any advice. I don’t want to treat her this way or be this kind of mom.

I’m sorry to be annoying but I just don’t understand childcare tax free account on the gov website. My boy is due to start nursery next week and I’d like to take advantage of the tax free but I just don’t understand it.
Could someone please spare some time to explain it to me please?
Thank you

I am feeling like such a terrible mom. My girl is extremely fussy, wont stay down much for a nap & isn’t eating normal. Yesterday she was up for 4 hours tried a car ride, contact nap, swing nap, bassinet snoo nothing worked! Its been a couple days & I feel helpless. I never went through this with my first- he was happy so much as I was holding him. I’m in such a panic state.
