Got a 3rd round job interview but i haven’t updated them that I am now redundant, i have been on 2 year mat leave, i have 2 kids, i need time for starting school, i need time for school run at 3/4pm. What truths should i reveal next week?

So far i have asked/mentioned:
- whether their workforce has lots of parents
- do ppl jump out for school runs then log in again
- they do allowance for ppl that are more than 1 hour commute away
- core hours are 10-4pm (i havent told them my school ends at 3:15 and wrap around care is only til 4:30)
- i have child care needs as they wanted a face to face really short notice next week

I haven’t told them my 2nd is doing only 3 days nursery in sept coz i reduced him due to the redundancy process as they dont know i have a 2nd child!!! So in october i can send him in full time or try to pay for additional sessions in September if i start early.

How much should i tell them next week??

They have a busy period sept/oct and i would be 1 of the newest hires at my level. (They are looking for more). And so me saying i can start sooner as i have taken redundancy now in sept would be beneficial to them.
But i need to help my 4 yo transition into school (lots of half days) so i only would start like 22nd sept

And as mentioned i only have 3 days a week nursery paid for atm.

I dont want to say i been on 2 year mat leave- is that OK? There may be major gaps in my knowledge but AI can fill it…

I also dno how AI has changed in 2 years but i know everyone is using claude

I also dont know how much my current company will reveal- on my redundancy letter theyy said they will tell future employees i left due to redundancy.

My current company said they are happy to do mock interviews with me so i can ask them what they get asked when they do references and what they will say.

I also have another 2nd round interview for a different company today, where i said yes i can work 9-6pm and 2 month notice period. I am wondering if i shud just tell them everything truthfully coz their benefits say they are coaching women returning to work and lots of benefits like that!

I am not too fussed if they drop me after that… but that would be discrimination i guess. But i am more interested in the 1st company… that said this 2nd company is a much easier commute in central. But i wont know how the truth helps until i try it!!!

Ahhhh so many dilemmas! I just wanted time for myself and my eldest this aug/September after my clingy toddler started full time nursery!

Why do i want so much?

Personally I would be clear about your wants and needs as if they can't offer something suitable for you it won't work for you anyway? Especially at this stage in interviews.

And there is absolutely no shame in telling them you have been made redundant, it's not something that's your fault or that they can hold against you. If anything it's a perk as you can be more flexible with a start date as you haven't got to give any notice!

Sounds like maybe you aren’t ready to start working full time? Where do you live?

Idk how it works in the UK (I assume that's where you are based on the language), but it would be best to be truthful with your hours. I'm honestly curious, why you are looking for a full time job if you can't work full time hours? It's always best to be upfront about your non negotiable hour needs.

Beware of the fake posts offering to buy you lunch/dinner

They are probably not even real accounts, but they're making posts telling you to drop your Cashapp so that they can treat you to lunch. They even have a fake commenter on the posts to make people believe they're actually sending money to people on here.

They went to invite you to a church and that's why they're not trying to communicate in comments

Flexi working request

When did you girls put in your request for work or start the discussion? I’m going back in May and to be honest I just want to know what I am going back too!

No bestfriend

I’m so sad my baby’s bday party is Saturday and it makes me sad to think I have no friends to invite or even a bestfriend in my life I could have over or just help plan with.

Need some advice

I’m 9 weeks and 5 days pregnant and the father is pushing me to get rid of my baby. I’ve never been pregnant before, and despite the circumstances I am excited to be a ftm. A little backstory. I found out the father was texting his ex 2 days before I found out I was pregnant and we broke up. I’m prepared to do this mommy thing alone I just don’t know how to tell him I want to keep my baby.

Looking for my bestie 🥹🩷

I would LOVE to find a bestie who loves to text, spill the tea, and talk about literally everything. Someone who will send reels/TikToks back and forth all day, randomly text “girl you won’t believe what happened,” and actually wants to build a genuine friendship!
