If you go on holiday or sleep at grandparents house, what would you do if your 2 year old can literally only sleep in their own (dark) room in their own bed without noise but it might not be the case if you’re going away? Like how do they sleep if it’s not easy they’re used to in your own home?

Do you use white noise at home? You can get darkened pods that go over toddler mattresses/cots I believe.
We use white noise and can easily bring that with us but my issue is where would he sleep if he is so used to sleeping on his own and in his own bed

My 20 month old has pretty much every nap and bed time in her cot. Always independent sleep.
We have come on holiday today. Been a long day so had 2 naps, first was contact on the plane, 2nd i tried independent but she wasn't ready so started contact nap and transfered.
This evening we had a 10 min cuddle in same position as start of afternoon nap, and then she was happy to go to bed and self soothe.
They just figure it out. But might need a bit more help feeling safe and secure.

Sleep just kind of sucks when it comes to young kids on vacation. They make air mattresses specifically for toddlers for 2+ year olds so if there’s a space for him elsewhere you could try that, if he doesn’t sleep well in the room with others.

On holiday we had a black out room but did but portable black out blinds. We used some white noise. She was so tired 6/8 nights slept better than at home as holidays are so busy x

My sister used to put a pack n play in the hotel closet with a baby monitor. 😂 That way it was more like their own room, darker, and had a small noise barrier.
I feel awful writing this. Me and my lovely husband haven’t been together long - 14 months which I know sounds crazy! I love him so much. We have a 5 week old who I adore more than anything. But I miss it being just me and my husband so much. We’re snapping at each other and I feel stressed all the time. It was a really difficult pregnancy towards the end and this is maybe even more difficult. I’m mourning the ease of our old life (which I know didn’t last long!!) I’m a bit sensitive and wanted to just put this out there. Any insights?

When your child is having a tantrum... Do you ever just think in your head shut the hell up?
I feel bad for thinking it. But I'm only human. Thankfully I don't project and remain patient on the exterior. But interior I'm shouting in my head

The first thing I think of (after are they ok) when my husband says he's at the ER because our son got stung half a dozen times by wasps was "where are his glasses? He can't see without his glasses"
My son doesn't wear glasses.
He's fine btw

I have an almost 2 year old daughter
She’s my whole life I adore her
I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday
We found out we’re having another daughter & I absolutely weeped like I mourned a son that was never meant for me
I dreamed up an entire world with my daughter & this second child being a son & it’s hit me so hard knowing now that won’t be my reality
I’m finding it really difficult to accept
Has anyone felt this way
I see all kinds of families around me with & without children with boys with girls with a mix etc
I am so grateful for everything I have
I just can’t help this feeling
My heart aches
