This might sound stupid, but everyone says you can't do any lifting so I'm really confused about how I'm supposed to get the baby out of the Moses basket at night.
Do you keep the baby on your side or your partner side and have them help?

What I was told was 'don't lift anything heavier than your baby' meaning (if you physically can) you can pick your baby up 😊

My partner did all the night feeds until I felt I was able to lift safely x

I could and my baby was 11lb x

My baby was 9lb I could lift him but was the bending into the moses basket for me. So I got my partner to pick him up and put him on me until a few days in when I felt a little easier

I personally couldn’t lift my 4kg baby for the first 3 weeks at least

I was told not to lift anything heavier than your baby x

Csnt do anything heavier then baby and car seat. Or like roughly 10lbs for a couple weeks. For us it had to be more because my child was already over 10 lbs at birth so they kind of laughed and were like uhhh don’t do anything heavier then your baby in the car seat. So lifting them out of bed is totally fine

The doctor said don't lift anything heavier than you baby...he was always in my arms...unless I was going to the bathroom or something. 😅

You can lift your baby, just not anything heavier than your baby! My partner would lift her out at night and pass her over to me for the first few weeks!

My doctor told me nothing heavier than your baby. I wasn’t fortunate enough to have much help but I would let your partner help lift the baby to you so you aren’t putting too much pressure or weight on your incision.

Do you mean lifting both the basket and your baby together? Or just lifting the baby out? You can lift the baby. The advice states nothing heavier than your baby, it doesn't say you can't lift your baby. The reason it's "nothing heavier than your baby" is because no one in their right mind will tell the mother of a newborn infant not to lift their child.
I see so many people with small babies using carriers completely wrong but I never know if I should say anything. And if I do, I don’t want to come across like I’m chastising them, I just want their baby to be safe. Would you say something?

So my daughter goes to nursery and recently they have reported back about her communication saying it not where they’d expect. Has anyone else had this?
I’d say she isn’t too bad with her communication, she says a few meaningful words, she understands what you say and follows it. She understands gestures like opening and shutting when you say open etc. she points to things she wants.
I constantly talk to her saying the names of objects etc, show her book and name things in them. I sign a lot of gestures that I hope she’ll start to use.
No doubt the nursery are doing what we pay them for by doing observations, and I definitely want my child to progress. But I just feel it’s a bit harsh as I’m doing everything already that they recommend to build communication.
I just don’t know what else to do.
Can anyone help?

My little girl is 1 next week and has been completely off, she’s screamed for 2.5 hours last night before bed only to sleep for 2.5hpurs and wake up at 11:15-1:50. She woke up this morning at 8:45 and was awake but looked so tired bless her. I’ve been trying since roughly half 9 to get her down for her morning nap, she’s yawning and rubbing her eyes but fully refusing, screaming, arching her back and shaking her head. She’s screamed that much she’s sweating. She’s got a couple spots on her face and a snotty nose. She’s just not herself. I’ve had very little sleep dealing with her last night and I’m also unwell. I literally could cry with her. She’s been so off. I went on my hen do and stayed away on Saturday so thought it could be maybe she just missed me but this isn’t right, and I’ve got no one to come and help just give me 5 minutes to have a quick shower and a break because my fiancé is at work. Any advice?

What is everyone's thoughts about having 2 under 2/under 3? How did work take it when u told them u was pregnant again ? Trying to decide if we should or not. My partner is 32 in a few months time so he will be about 50 when our little man turns 18😅

I’m less than 2 weeks PP and I’m really struggling to find the joy in motherhood.
I wanted this baby so much, he’s IVF and such a conscious decision but I’m so unhappy.
I’m in touch with my midwives, the MH team, tried Samaritans and PANDAS but I’m only feeling worse.
I think it’s particularly hard because he has a tongue tie that means he cluster feeds basically all day and I can’t do a thing. He’ll scream anywhere but my breast.
I was wondering if anyone struggled post partum, and what they actively did to find joy and connection with their baby? I’m truly starting to wonder if I hate it and if I genuinely love him. I’m so clouded with sadness.
