Shall I leave my partner?

God I need to rant. This might not make any sense I’m just going to type what I’m thinking. Bit of background, I’m 24 and my partner is 27, we fell pregnant after dating 3 months and then moved into together just before I gave birth. Everything was going swimmingly until that point, but since then I’ve had post partum depression, I’ve had a stalker, I found my partner sexting another girl, he found a somewhat flirty message on my phone and my partner has since been diagnosed with depression. He complains I don’t clean up enough, which I hold my hands up, I should do more. But I am the constant parent. Everyday during the week and weekends, I wake up during the nights for our little one , I wake up for her every morning and he gets to lay in ( when he’s not working) I look after her whilst he does football every weekend and then goes to the pub, I take her out on my own, I am the constant. He rarely has to look after our kid on his own and when he does, he goes straight to his nans because he can relax whilst she fusses and sees to the baby. Just recently, I went to an outdoor cinema/ party for the afternoon/ evening. My partner was at the football and went to the pub, so his aunt watched our baby. He got to theirs at 7-8 o’clock and then stayed until 10:30 to watching the boxing, so already her schedule was interrupted. I got a call on my way home I could hear our baby screaming in the background, he was having a meltdown saying he couldn’t cope and she wouldn’t settle. As I walked in the door she was screaming her head off and he said he’s never parenting on his own again. He had her for 1 hour that day. I understand he has depression but come on. My partner is off work at the moment for his mental health and has been for the last 1-2 months so he’s been around constantly. Still, I do all the night shifts, I wake up to feed her, I get her dressed ( because he doesn’t know what to put her in apparently, because it’s sooo hard????) I do it all. Tonight our baby was struggling to settle, and he was just laying there trying to get off to sleep. I was knackered too I had no sleep the night before, he said I’m tired too you’re not the only one. I said under my breath, I’ll sort her out then. This then led to an argument- apparently, according to him, waking up for babies during the night is ‘normally a mum thing to do’. I was honestly gobsmacked. I then asked him ok what’s the dad’s job then? He had no answer. I’m honestly just so drained of this relationship but I moved away from family to be with him, and I can’t go back I don’t have anywhere but here. If I had a place to go i would’ve left a long time ago because I feel like I’m not being respected enough for being a mum. I never get a break, even when I do I feel like I’m not being respected enough for what I do as a mum. And even for example, it’s my girls 1st birthday party coming up. I have planned it ALL, every single bit. He ordered the cake ( I asked him to do this) Because apparently party planning is stressful, when I was sorting the food out to order, his words ‘wow this is all so stressful’ - honestly I could’ve slapped him because he’s not done a single thing. Don’t get me wrong he absolutely loves our daughter to death but omg I just am sick and tired of being the constant, I feel so unrespected. Do I leave him? Or am I being unreasonable? I understand he has been suffering with his mental health, but at what point does it go past that and just pure selfishness?

I’m sorry you are going through this, it sounds like a horrible situation. If it’s opinions you want from what you have said parting ways sounds like it would benefit the both of you. Right now it sounds like you are the soul parent and as a mum with kids the older they get the more they see and they need to see happy parents first. Being your own person and finding your happiness again. Sometimes no matter how much you love someone for the sake of your kids it’s better to be alone especially when you are handling all the burdens, again a conversation should happen about everything and how you both can mend things. Maybe that might be the solution you guys needed. You also mentioned that your partner suffers from depression and that can be hard but a step forward is him getting help because he might not understand how it is affecting his family. I hope things better for you mama I’m throwing you prayers and positivity ❤️

Hi, this must be so hard for you I get everything that you are saying your definitely not being unreasonable I think the way your feeling is so valid not only is it hard for him but it must be so hard for you to, trying to carry the weight of everything on your shoulders but also to do everything for your baby and being the best mum that you can be. I would feel frustrated too! It sounds like you need some time for yourself for sure I feel like I can relate to certain things to I’ve moved away from family so that’s hard that you may not be getting as much help as what you need if you ever need to talk to someone I’m here to listen. hi babes, i totally understand what you’re going through. she witnesses everything and will think it’s ok to take up the disrespect as she’s older. if possible make friends around the area so you guys can have like an escape. i have nothing more to say. i’m sorry. it hurts but you should make the decision to move forward. you’re already doing it by yourself.. you don’t need him.

could this potentially be her teeth ?

i might be crazy but honestly i'm not sure, her gums feel hard and she has been drooling a ton lately. she also has been getting super fussy and hasn't been eating as long / will refuse the breast at first. she has been eating her hand (but not in a hunger way) and will eat my arm, i am just very unsure.

Mums with experiences of UK nurseries

I’d really appreciate your advice!

As we all know, nursery fees in the UK aren’t cheap, so I’m trying to understand how other nurseries handle this situation.

If your child is normally booked in 5 days a week, but you need to go abroad for 1–2 months, has anyone successfully reduced their nursery attendance temporarily to, say, 2 days a week, then returned to 5 days a week afterwards?

My understanding is that if I give the nursery the required notice, I can reduce the sessions and pay for the 2 days during that period. However, my nursery has said they cannot guarantee that my child’s original 5-day place will still be available when we return.

I’m struggling to understand this. If I’m giving the required notice, continuing to pay for 2 days, and the nursery is still receiving payment for those 2 days, why would my baby potentially lose his original 5-day place after being away for only a month?

I completely understand that the nursery may want to fill the other 3 days temporarily. But if they do, does that mean the nursery can effectively give those sessions to another child and then say my baby’s place is no longer available when we return?

Mama stressed

Little rant but mainly looking for advice of any kind 😩
So my eldest boy is 6 and he is really struggling with his behaviour over the summer holidays he’s been so naughty and has constantly pushed buttons completely on purpose he claims he can’t control it and that his brain is bad however I can’t excuse or understand how he can do things like pour Pepsi all over his dads £1400 gaming set up because he ‘doesn’t like it’ or smash his tv out of anger coz a game wouldn’t let him play it how he wanted he’s constantly stealing things like chewing gum or snacks and then refusing to eat actual food and he’s shouting at us and telling us he hates us and we’re worst parents and he’s even gone as to far as attempting to hit his baby brother who’s 17 months old. Overall I’m at breaking point because this isn’t who he is yet it’s all he seems to be doing lately I’m heartbroken and feel defeated and I just want my boy back and to help get to bottom of this 😩😭

Book recommendations for 1 year old!

I'm attending a birthday party for a family friend's baby who is turning one. Mum's a book worm so I'm assuming she has many many books for her son.

Does anyone have any good books i could gift that aren't popular so there is less chance she already has it😅

Thanks!x
