Did anyone else’s LO go on hunger strike at nursery when they first started?

Looks like mine is doing this today.

Its normal. I work in a nursery, some children when they first started refuse to eat and are quiet fussy. Id say pack some of their favourite snacks in their bag.

Yep mine did for about 4 to 6 months. Didnt eat much or nothing. Didn't have bottles. Still seemed happy while there and didnt lose weight or anything. Now we are 8 months in and he is eating and taking bottles there. They would offer him more snacks instead which he did eat. X

We have done some settle sessions and they have gone quite badly. She screams the whole time. I already know she is going to refuse food :( so next week when she is meant to start I am going to ease her in with just afternoon sessions so I can give her breakfast and lunch at home :( and then pray for the best the week after

I hope it goes well for your LO

Yes! Mine LO has just started and has barely had any milk - the nursery workers said it is pretty normal and will contact me or my husband if it happens for too long and needs to be picked up.

My little one still just eats a snack and refuses anything else 🙃

Relationship/ partner breakdown

Over the weekend my partner had a complete mental breakdown. He’s been struggling since the birth of our little boy who’s now 3 months old. I have a daughter from a previous relationship who’s 9 and they’ve always clashed to some extent. During my pregnancy he asked me to leave the home (it’s his house) so I moved back to my mums with her, as he struggled with her. He wanted to try and we moved back and after baby was born everything seemed great, there were a few arguments here and there but I just thought it was normal family life. I’ve been so wrapped up in our baby that I’ve neglected him and our relationship and didn’t see how bad he was struggling, I wish he had communicated to me. We haven’t shared a bed since baby was born as I do every night feed which was my choice. I’ve moved back to my mums and will see him on the weekend but I fear our relationship is over and I’m heartbroken. Has anyone ever been through anything like this and is there a way to come back together? I know he needs to focus on getting back to himself but I can’t imagine a life without him in the long term.

Would you be pissed off

I have made it very clear I do not want my daughter who is 2 to be forward faced. Those in the family have car seats that can rear face to 18kg. She is not 18kg. Today I find out shes being forward faced by one of the family members I use for child care. I am pissed!! Yes she can legally forward face but it is NOT what I have requested and now I feel I cant trust them to look after my daughter if theyre breaking a boundary I have set what other boundaries will they break.

Harder or Easier?

Do you find it harder as a SAHM, when your husband/partner is home than when they’re not? Not because they’re unhelpful or incompetent, just because you have your rhythm when they’re not around and it changes when they are.

Would you be annoyed

So 99% of the time I get the kids ready for the day, I do their laundry and sort their clothes and I also buy majority of their clothes
Sometimes my partner has a problem with what they’re wearing and will start critiquing or complaining once we’re already dressed for the day

Today was one of those days they were wearing a T-shirt and leggings and it was about 20 degrees Celsius the high of the day is 24 I feel like this is appropriate clothing for the temperature

We were about to go out in 15 mins and he started saying they need to change into warmer clothes, I’m tired of going back and forth with him on this so I said “if you want them to change can you change them” as I still needed to eat my breakfast for some reason he still had a problem with how I said it (I didn’t have an attitude or anything) but he couldn’t even say how he’d rephrase it

Anyways here’s what he changed them into (bear in mind they’re quite thick clothes if you can’t tell) I was wearing a T-shirt and shorts and still felt warm outside and he was wearing a T-shirt and joggers

Obviously for me this is 4 sets of clothes I need to wash rather than just 2 and even if I asked him to do the laundry I’d be waiting forever

Running out of ideas

My son is 4 months old (19 weeks) and im running out of ideas of things to do for play!

We go to baby sensory once a week and daily walks as he loves being in his pram looking around.

We do tummy time, stories and he plays with me in his play gym. He has long wake windows but good(ish) naps, every day he has a night time baths cos he loves a bath but i feel like he needs more play activities. Ive tried tummy time with a tray of shallow water and his toys in but he wasnt fussed.

Any ideas what i can try? He gets bored faaairly quickly but also want new ideas for me to as it feels like the same things again and again!

Thanks in advanced!
