Is anyone else feeling anxious about it all.
My daughter is having an assessment for selective mutism/autism.
She won't talk to the teachers if she doesn't know them. At nursery it took her a long time to talk to the teachers and open up. She is otherwise chatty and happy. She can make friends after getting used to them after a while. But ita the adults she finds more difficult to talk to. I know it will take a her a good 6 months to a year to fully settle and be her self.

I have no experience personally but wanted to say one of my daughter’s friends has selective mutism and started school last year. She has thrived there. The kids understand it to an extent and are like 'Oh that’s just ******' but love her anyway. She doesn’t talk to the teachers at all but she follows instructions and joins in. She’s loved as she is. She’s become a lot chattier in other situations since joining school as well. She was chatting away to my husband one day (which she’d never done before) and I could see her Mum welling up because it was a big moment. She’s starting year 1 today and the school are so, so great with her and have really bent over backwards to accommodate. I hope your daughter has a similar experience and it’s not too anxiety inducing for you both. I’m sure she’s going to smash it 🤍

I was in the same boat as you.. I was worried after having a confirmed diagnosis of autism she may struggle in Nursery but the teachers are AMAZING.. She has made so many friends x
Just recently she also has been diagnosed with hearing loss so wears hearing aids and now I'm worried she will struggle with another thing but I am being very optimistic because I tend to overthink which makes it worse. She's just started Reception and she done really well yesterday esp after a 6 week break x

Hi. I'm fairly sure my son is neurodivergent in some way. I'm quite confident he has dyspraxia and because of that his speech can be very difficult to understand (he's in speech therapy).
It's been a massive barrier to his confidence and him making proper friends in pre-school.
We've had a very good convo with the school and they're so supportive and seem so willing to accommodate that it's looking like we currently won't need an EHCP (which could be worth looking into for your little one if extras Help is needed)
He's just had his first half day, came out beaming and said he really likes school!
Nursery/preschool was huge with up to 50 kids in the room in a busy day and so I think having less people there has been really helpful.
I'm still anxious about longer term and the coming years, how it affects his learning and ability to make friends, but just trying to take it one day at a time as no one knows what the future holds 🙏🏼 x
Could anyone suggest any other breakfasts I could offer my 15 month old please? We alternate between Weetabix or toast. Sometimes if there is more time I’ll make banana pancakes. He doesn’t have many teeth so limited to things that are easily chewable but I’m not sure if there are any other suitable cereals he could try

Guys I’m so annoyed with my husband. I’ve noticed I’ve since the baby turned eight months. It seems like he’s just been less helpful. He’s been playing this game on his phone and I normally don’t care but when the baby is crying because they obviously are hungry/ want to sleep etc. and he’s just playing the game and I’m stuck in work(working from home) it’s so annoying like why do I have to do every single thing while I’m trying to work?
I’m stopping to feed the baby changed diapers while you’re on your phone gaming
I’ve talked to him about the game already saying that I think you’re kind of being distracted and you’re not you know, helping as much when it comes to the child so he stepped up and started washing bottles helping out a little more now. But he had to give me so much talk about all he just wants to relax. And this is his only time to relax and he doesn’t interrupt me when I am playing games. I haven’t played a game in months because we have this child and I’m just tired all this time I went straight from a C-section to working full-time within a week and beyond tired.
He helps out with a lot of other things, but oh my gosh I just want help while I’m working. We literally only have two more days till baby goes to school. Why? Why can’t you get off this game?

My partner goes to work then will go straight out wether it's out with friends to the gym or to do what ever he wants come home mostly after bed time ,which can't be helped if he's working but on days we're he may finish at 3pm I'd love for him to just come home and help me with our 2 under 2
He will just go out and do what ever he wants , I get that he needs his free time but what about my times from the kids
I just he's begining to piss me off and out of 5 days he may come home straight after work twice but then will focus on cooking dinner he's a chef and loves cooking but when he's home he needs to take over or share the load
He's a great dad on the days he's off but we had this chat many times it's going in one ear and out the other .

I went out to eat with my friends last night and I’ve got one friend that sends food back every time. I’m not exaggerating, she complains to wait staff and management every time. Sometimes we gotta talk to her in the car about ordering what she’s accustomed too and not sending things back. One of my other friends told her, you gotta stop this shit! 🤣
