9/10 month olds in nursery reassurance 😣

Hi! My baby boy is almost 10 months and he has just started full days nursery. I work 3 days a week as a teacher and I hate every single second of it. I feel miserable leaving him and the guilt when they tell me he’s been upset at times is awful. Everyone I know with kids seems to either be stay at home mums or work incredibly flexible jobs that allow pick up to be really early. My daughter also starts school this year and she’s in breakfast and after school club.

I guess I’m just looking for reassurance that this is common and that many of us do actually have no choice but to use childcare. How do you deal with the emotions? I would give anything for another year off with my baby 😭

My baby was in part time from 3 months, she loves it, they get up to all sorts and has great report with the staff.

My business won’t run itself !

I’m in exactly the same situation — I have a son who’s four and my little one is 10 months old. I work in healthcare, and I find it really challenging trying to balance everything, especially with the demands of the job and how difficult it can be to actually finish on time.
I’d really love to speak to someone who’s in a similar boat and understands what it’s like trying to juggle work and two young children 🩷

I go back to work next month but my almost 10 month old is starting nursery next week and so far her settling sessions haven't gone too well. She was very emotional at her last session and I had to pick her up early so I'm dreading it.

She'll be in Mondays and Fridays and with Grandparents 2 other days out of the week so I'll have her wednesday and weekends. Breaks my heart that we have to send them off to other people. It completely goes against our natural instincts as mothers!
Just to make ends meet, we have to leave them. I hate every bit of it but I try to tell myself it'll be good for her to find comfort in others and it will be good for me to get back to having some days to myself even if they are at work.
I've been through it with my first born and I know that you soon find a new normal. Its just very daunting at first

I think we're all there... I'm trying to be positive a bit, we won't be the first mums to leave their babies and they won't be the first babies left at nursery and this is part of the process. We will be fine and they will thrive and learn new things, make new friends šŸ’“

My baby has just started three days to and is 10 months next week . It's so tough at the start 😭 my eldest is going into year 1 and breakfast club etc and today he just ran away from the school gates which was so upsetting whilst I'm trying to hold the baby . I called an hour after and they said he was happy playing . It's all change and it takes time to get in the new 'Normal' routine but there are plenty of us mamas doing the same xx

I'm the same, I'm a teacher and my eldest starts school next week. These few weeks are very emotional with all these changes. My little girl is in nursery 2.5 days and grandparents 1.5 day and I have a wednesday.

I'm thankful I'm a teacher that I get the holidays with them and to make many memories with them. Many people only get 28 weeks. I use that when I'm sad. Also when terrible twos or threes hit you will be thankful for being at work 🤣

It's hard, but nursery is great for them once they're used it and you will cherish every moment with them. It's very normal x

CHEATING OR NOT?

so over the course of several weeks my man has been acting really sketchy. like a little less than a week ago he went out with friends, and didn’t come home until 5 o’clock in the morning. he said he was at a car show ???

then i talked to my friend who ran into him at a bar one night. she told me that she saw him greeting a girl who walked in alone, and he took her purse and was holding it for her and they sat at the bar and were just talking and talking. once my man noticed my friend was there, he acknowledged her but then they scurried off and left.

also, he’s been going to this sushi restaurant and a dive bar to do his work ā€œundistractedā€

then i saw on his watch that he’s texting with some girl named destiny??

some of it is just sketchy. but would you consider his actions at the bar cheating? or that he’s texting some girl i’ve never heard of?

Breakfast ideas

Could anyone suggest any other breakfasts I could offer my 15 month old please? We alternate between Weetabix or toast. Sometimes if there is more time I’ll make banana pancakes. He doesn’t have many teeth so limited to things that are easily chewable but I’m not sure if there are any other suitable cereals he could try

Working for a play cafe

I’ve been offered work on some weekends to help with parties at a local play cafe (4-5 hours max)

My partner doesn’t think I should be doing it as I’m ā€œmissing out on family timeā€ My partner works full time as a teacher and I’m a SAHM, he has been working extra during the holidays at clubs ect.

Surly I shouldn’t feel bad getting myself back out there again and then having ā€œmum guiltā€ on missing family when I’ve been a SAHM for over two and a half years ….

Venting

Guys I’m so annoyed with my husband. I’ve noticed I’ve since the baby turned eight months. It seems like he’s just been less helpful. He’s been playing this game on his phone and I normally don’t care but when the baby is crying because they obviously are hungry/ want to sleep etc. and he’s just playing the game and I’m stuck in work(working from home) it’s so annoying like why do I have to do every single thing while I’m trying to work?
I’m stopping to feed the baby changed diapers while you’re on your phone gaming

I’ve talked to him about the game already saying that I think you’re kind of being distracted and you’re not you know, helping as much when it comes to the child so he stepped up and started washing bottles helping out a little more now. But he had to give me so much talk about all he just wants to relax. And this is his only time to relax and he doesn’t interrupt me when I am playing games. I haven’t played a game in months because we have this child and I’m just tired all this time I went straight from a C-section to working full-time within a week and beyond tired.

He helps out with a lot of other things, but oh my gosh I just want help while I’m working. We literally only have two more days till baby goes to school. Why? Why can’t you get off this game?

How often do you send food back when dining out at a restaurant?

I went out to eat with my friends last night and I’ve got one friend that sends food back every time. I’m not exaggerating, she complains to wait staff and management every time. Sometimes we gotta talk to her in the car about ordering what she’s accustomed too and not sending things back. One of my other friends told her, you gotta stop this shit! 🤣
