Husband is not romantic

So my husband doesn’t buy me flowers doesn’t really do dates and doesn’t buy gifts he says it’s just something he’s never really done for a girl and doesn’t see the point basically…he says he MIGHT buy me flowers MAYBE once a month but even that’s too much lol he rather just give me money when I ask etc lol and if anything he will give me money to buy my own flowers 🙂

Thats wild, if its important to you and you have expressed that then it might be an issue. Is this a consistent thing through out your relationship? Was he ever romantic at the beginning?

People have different love language. His might be something else, try to do the test and see what your love languages are, have a discussion about it and tell him how important it is for you.

But just for your info, different people show their love differently

I definitely agree with a previous comment about doing the love languages test together. It’s so good to know how your significant other receives love and learning to love them the way they receive it.

The issue is that he compared you to a girl, as if you were dating. You're his wife.

IF he planned a date would you have someone to look after your daughter? Sometimes if they know there’s no one (esp after babies) they don’t plan the dates coz it’s too stressful to try find a babysitter. We have the MIL, and my sisters. I told him early on in the dating- I love dates. Take me out, wine and dine me- I don’t care for the gifts the flowers I’m not really a “gifts” girl but physical touch and quality time- yes please! I need to still feel connected, close to him in those ways. I love trying new restaurants and people, music. We have monthly date nights but we have mil watch over sleeping baby while we duck out for 3hrs. He only gets me gifts on special occasions but I’m the type to buy everything I want anyway so I’m not phased w the no gifts (at other times). Talk to him. Tell him it’s important to you, that YOU see the point and the efforts of his. I had to kind of train him up to be touchy-feely w me coz he grew up w a mum who didn’t show affection in those ways.

My husband doesn’t want have sex with me after birth

My baby soon will be 11 months! When I found out that I was pregnant we stopped having sex atv5 months! After I gave birth we had sex after 4 k months because I had to make a point and get upset if it was up to him he would happily not have sex at all!

Summer came all the time we had sex because I initiate it! After the summer holiday we were apart from each other for almost one month - I have been back for 1 week and he literally not even once he tried! Today we are going out for a date night which he insisted, I am annoyed that I need to leave my son behind and on the way I said what is the point about date night getting dressed and leaving my son behind as we do not have a date at home (meaning we do not have sex) I feel we are becoming roommates! He is amazing father and husband! I don’t work he let me look after my Baby and pursue my dreams! But I don’t want to be in a sexless marriage.

Maternity pay

Firstly, I just wanna say I recognise I’m in an incredibly privileged position and I’m definitely not taking it for granted. Secondly, I also really love my company and my bosses so I’m worried about falling out with them.

I work for a company that got bought out and therefore my contract changes mid mat leave. The first six weeks was under my old contract on statutory pay (90%) and the rest shifts to enhanced/full pay. The statutory average weekly earnings period was actually when I received my bonus so I would be entitled to more pay than a standard month under the 90% period.

I received my first payslip which would’ve had the first couple of weeks of Maternity pay and it was just my normal salary so I questioned it and they gave me the response that they were going to honour my new contract early rather than the statutory 90% of average weekly earnings (as if it’s a favour to me).

I was hoping for the extra money to cover the fact that my husband isn’t entitled to paternity pay but now I feel awkward saying anything to my boss as if I’m fleecing them of money or something and if they genuinely believe they’re doing me a favour by giving me enhanced pay rather than the “90%”.

Would you say anything or just be grateful to receive your normal salary?

Struggling with child starting school

I have 2 children. From a very young age I always wanted children. I then found out at 26 that I had endo and had fertility issues. I was unable to get pregnant. I then had a few rounds of IVF and finally got my 2 beautiful girls.

One started school a few years ago and is in her last year at her lower school. My youngest has just started school.

I feel heartbroken. I have no little people at home during the day now. I miss them so much and have cried every day this week.

I'm scared it won't get easier? I am scared of feeling lonely. They are my little besties and I feel so upset.

Has anyone got any advice or older children where you can tell me that there's so much more to enjoy as they get older? I will miss the little stage so much.

I always wanted 3 kids but not sure I can do IVF again due to costs

Coparenting and co living

Does anyone have advice on living with your husband after separation? I have a 10week old baby and a 6 year old at home. We have been together for 17 years and he cheated on me throughout my pregnancy and just found out is still talking to the other women. I’m done for sure but how do I still live with him after this?
