Working mom

I went back to work once my baby turned 16 weeks old, so I was lucky to get almost 4 months of maternity leave with her, and my husband was able to stay with her until she was 6 months old. My aunt watches her full time ever since.

I just really struggle with the guilt of leaving her in someone else’s care, even family. I am lucky that my husband drops her off at 9 and I am able to be there to pick her up by 3:30 so she’s only away from us for about 6.5 hours a day, with 2 of those hours usually being asleep. I am good at my job, I like it and the people I work with, and I’m the main breadwinner. I don’t feel like I should quit but I just feel so much guilt that it’s not me with my baby all day, every day. I am also afraid she won’t feel as bonded to me.
Any other working moms feel this way? Every other mom in my family (sister, sister in law, cousins) are all stay at home moms so maybe that’s why.. I just feel alone in this.

I'm right there with you! I got to stay home for the 15 weeks. I work from home most of the time and travel a day or two a month for work. I have a ton of flexibility, so I don't actually start working until 10am and get to spend the mornings with my babe. I stop at 4pm and then get back to work after she goes to bed at 8pm. We have a nanny from 10am to 4pm every day so I get to focus on work but see my babe all day. I interact with her throughout the day and still feel like I'm failing her because I'm not focused on her all day every day. You're not alone in your feelings.

Hey girlie! I felt like this too. Does your aunt take her to play with other babies like events at the library, rec etc? I found that when my baby is engaged and busy it helps

I also had 4 months and kept baby at home with family helping until 10 months. I loved he got 1:1 care but I felt guilty as well. Now that he’s 10 months he is so active and the guilt got worse because I felt like he was bored. we actually moved him into an in home daycare, it took a long time to find a fit for our family. He actually is thriving being around other babies it’s helping his development and that pretty much nixed my guilt. I’m not saying go to daycare but find something that works for your family. There’s the little gym memberships, swim, free story times and play times

Feel bad feeling this way. Does anyone relate ?

I look at friends without kids or just 1 child and see the freedom it gives them and I'm really questioning my life choices. Toddler stage with multiples is so hard. I'm tired. I just want to get on a plane and go away and escape.

Nursery Gifts

(Don't hate me for saying the C word in September!! 🤣)

My son (10 month) is starting nursery next month and I'm just wondering, is it the done thing to by the nursery staff Xmas gifts? I'm trying to get all Christmas presents sorted early before the childcare expenses start coming 🤣

First birthday presents!

What’s everyone getting their little ones for their birthday?! (I know I can’t believe I am asking this 😱😭). Big or small presents, what have you bought? Or even prior to their bday, is there anything you guys have bought and loved for your little ones! ☺️

Lonely

My son is almost two months. I’m just feeling extremely lonely lately. I’m basically home Monday to Friday and Saturday from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm. I put baby to bed every night rinse and repeat. My boyfriend is at a concert tonight and I can’t help but feel extremely sad, lonely, and resentful. I have a pit in my stomach. I also miss my bf as we barely see one another , talk , or sleep in same bed since baby. Do things get better? It really bothers me that dads just resume as normal. 😭 just needed to vent. If anyone feels same please let me know so I don’t feel so alone.
