Hiya ladies I’ve been in hospital since around Thursday night as came in with contractions turns out I was only 1 cm but at that time I wasn’t contracting so regularly however a few hours later going into Friday morning contractions became extreme and way more regular so they kept me in since my first cervical exam they haven’t examined me so not sure where I am at now but contractions are not as intense but I still have a hard stomach hopefully I can go back home today if Labour hasn’t progressed
Any advice on what I should do and how to dilate more

Bounce on the birthing ball, and chill. Try not to focus on "i need to dilate" etc just bounce & watch tv or read or something. Ask them to examine you to put your mind at ease but otherwise bounce like bugs bunny 😁 xx

lol love that , I did ask them to check me but they refused and said “we don’t like to keep checking as it can get sore and cause infection” which is funny as I’ve only been checked once but Yh I’m so ready for this baby now been doing squats and lunges

Just stay as active as possible x
Currently being induced at 39 weeks and feel absolutely terrible for my partner being here with me. Uncomfy chair (expected) but them not even offering him a drink :(( I feel so guilty

Feel like I’m fully in the trenches with this gas pain, my stomach is so noisy and painful, I do not remember this type of pain after my first. I had my section on Friday afternoon and the last 6 hours have been horrid.
Anyone have any tips? Or just tell me it gets better🥲

So for context, I called the emergency gynecology unit about 2 days ago (alos used as the early pregnancy unit; under 8 weeks), due to ongoing bleeding & minor interchanging cramps, the first woman I spoke to was sweet enough.. she just sounded tired, told me the triage nurse would call me within the hour, it took nearly 2 hours so i was just left panicking, she FINALLY called me back at around midnight and the attitude on this woman STANK. I mean, she picked up and I felt like I could actually hear the eyeroll, I explained my symptoms, she looked through my chart, she seen I was in at around 5 weeks pregnant for a reassurance scan to check it wasn't an ectopic pregnancy and had a scan booked for the 14th to check bubbas heartbeat as it was too early to see it last time. She goes "you're bleeding?", me: "yes.", her: "any pain?", me: "a little", her: "k" (kissed her teeth), her: i can see here you have a scan on Monday?", me: "yup", her: "okay, well they're only scanning you cos they couldn't find ITS heartbeat, so if the bleeding/cramping gets any worse then don't bother going to your appointment on monday or the 23rd cos you've miscarried. Go ER tho." Me: (getting understandably upset and trying to hold back tears) "okay..", her: "k, anything else I can help you with", me: "no", her: "okay, soz luv. Ave a nice night" then hung up on me, I dont know if im over reacting because im just more sensitive at the moment from the changing hormones n stuff but that just felt extremely rude and insensitive, especially when on my notes in red at the top of the page in bold letters, it mentions ive had prior losses & a 'recent' infant loss (last year in may, Suspected SIDS but unconfirmed), there was just no emotion in how she said anything or like she even took into consideration how I'd feel hearing that?... and then to proceed to call my baby an "IT", there's plenty other terminology to use than "it". 🤦♀️🤦♀️ am I overreacting or do I have a right to be upset/annoyed??.

I’m in the UK and having my baby with the NHS for context…I spent a long time writing a birth plan and I have a different midwife every appointment so we’ve never really gone over any of the notes I’ve written up. I’m my own time I put some notes on badger. Is there any point taking a print out? Shall I just say my preferences when I’m at the hospital? Is this normal?
