For example, you can't hug the children you coach. You have to try to remain a physical distance to cover yourself because things happen and he/she said won't cover your job. You're also not a teacher or school aid and don't want the kids looking at you as anything other than "coach." I imagine a 5 year old is more than excited to have an adult they're comfortable with as their school coach and will want everyone else to be jealous 😂 especially this 5 year old.

Can the school make an exception for a parent that is a coach?

I’ve known teacher that had their kids in their class. The kid called them by their last name like everyone else. I think the SD will adapt and be fine with following the rules too

Explain rules to kiddo and maybe stick to have fives for all the kids

Im not sure how the kids will be with that specific rule, i get you gotta be professional but little kids love hugs and high fives, they thrive off of them. I worked as a sub and kids all the way up to 3rd grade wanted to stop and hug their favorite teacher/staff. I wish you the best of luck with that.

I would speak to the school(s) about getting reassigned.

Both my parents are teachers I had both of them for class - no choice as they were each the only option for their respective classes. My dad in elementary school and my mom in high-school. I would hug my dad and call him "Dad". No one else ever did. Go in the first day and name it. Then no one cares. "I'm so and so's step mom, but more importantly I am your coach. I am going to treat everyone the same during our time together." Then stick to that.
While class was in session I was a student like any other in his class. Explain to your step daughter and then hold the boundary.

Knowing me I’m mothering all the kids one kid gets a hug they all get a hug don’t matter to me if they in my care 😌

I know plenty of people who grew up with their parents as teachers, TA’s, dinner ladies, etc, and while they loved to brag about it to the other kids like ‘that’s my mam’, they understood that there was no favouritism and they’d be treated the same as the other kids.
I don’t see how that would be difficult to explain to a 5 year old that when you’re at school you’re working and they need to treat you the same as they’re treat any other coach ?
Has anyone claimed for the funded hours under the impression that they would qualify but the not met the threshold? What happens? Do you just pay back the amount claimed or do you get fined/ in trouble?
I work in a supermarket and been there since May, they said they could only give me a 10hr contract but because I’m available 2 days a week they would give me more hours. When my daughter started at her childminder I asked to increase my contract to 16hrs and they said they don’t offer a contract for 16hrs but they said they would rotate me to 16hrs each week so I qualify and they have stuck to this.
My issue is when I take holiday I’m only paid at 10hrs and if they aren’t busy on my work days then they ask me to go home half an hour early as essentially I’m over my hours each week but 6hrs. Any advice? I spoke to the funded hours people and they were so rude and made me feel awful about myself.

He puts my daughter to sleep now cause she just wants to play when I try to. And I needed his car keys to get something from the car and they were in the room where he’s putting my daughter to sleep. So I texted him and he didn’t reply like he usually does so I thought they both might asleep so I opened the door and I ended up waking f her up as soon as she was about to finally fall asleep and ruined it… now he’s texting me saying how he’s furious and that I ruined everything and wasting even more of his time having to pay her back to sleep and he’s so angry… i admit I fucked up and should’ve just waited but is he overreacting??

Heading on our first holiday to Greece in a couple of weeks with our six month old. What are the key things we should be taking/ tips for both for making the flight as easy as possible and for whilst we are there?

My child 5 years old in Kindergarten has behavior problems in school possibly adhd and high anxiety and also hitting. We are in the process of getting an IEP but it takes 60 days. Our IEP meeting is oct 26. Every single day we bring him HES excited to go to school. Every day at 9:30am the school tells us we have to pick him up bc he’s he’s hitting and trying to elope and aggressive. The school starts at 8:30 and they say he can’t be in class for more than 30-1 hr.. why would I keep bringing him if he’s in school for 1-2 hrs and the school says they don’t have anyone to be with him or help him and they won’t let us help and be at the school. Im also waiting for aba services i also have him in okay therapy and don’t know what else to do besides keep him home wait for aba and call the school district or other resources to help have more support bc the school cant do anything for him. VERY Overwhelming.

My husband can come across as really loving and sweet, but behind closed doors I often feel like I’m walking on eggshells.
He does not take any form of criticism well. He immediately becomes defensive and enraged and it always ends in a big fight.
He also does not take people joking with him well. If he is the subject of a joke/banter he will have a huge tantrum or go silent and want to leave. He ruined last Christmas after someone teased him a little bit. He spent all of Christmas Day alone, and went and had a nap up in the bedroom by himself, refused to eat Christmas dinner with everyone, and asked me if we could leave that night instead of staying over. He also ruined Easter because he was ‘so tired’, he didn’t want to go, and when we went he sabotaged it, didn’t join anyone for dinner and sat in a room with just our baby. He’s also sabotaged other events including most recently my brother’s wedding. I’m fed up with family events being ruined.
He never apologises for anything. And if I bring up something I’m not happy with with he will always spin it round so that he is the victim and I am in the wrong, so I always end up apologising even though I was mad at him in the first place. This happens every few days at the moment. I thinks he’s apologised first twice in our 4 year relationship.
He loves people praising him, and every day after work he brags about his achievements and often belittles his colleagues and their mistakes. He absolutely rages if anyone at work makes him feel small, or steps out of line. He hates his ego being diminished.
He checks out other women in front of me, then denies it. Makes me feel like I am wrong and he’s doing nothing wrong at all.
He doesn’t seem to have much empathy and has a very small amount a patience for our nearly 1 year old. Our son loves me unconditionally and isn’t that keen on my husband. Our son only settles with me and my husband hates this. I think it’s because my son senses it.
He gives me the silent treatment for hours or days at a time after an argument, especially if I was annoyed at him at first, and he’s spun it round on me. He’s so moody and irritable. I’m so tired of it.
Is he a narcissist?
