Birthday cost
Is £300-£400 a normal amount to spend on your child’s birthday?
I think that’s so standard when you consider presents, clothes, decorations, cake and an outing. My partner thinks a 2 year olds birthday shouldn’t cost this much as they won’t remember it and I get what he’s saying but the cost of everything is so expensive I think it’s hard for it not to cost that much.

I’ve probably spent more than that on my two year olds birthday so don’t worry lol! They’re our babies, if we aren’t going to spoil them then who is?!
Decorations, cake etc definitely bring the price up too. For me, decorations (from shein too) and helium came to £70+ as it is!

Personally we're not spending anywhere near that as we don't have the spare cash to spend that much and also both feel the same as your partner. We also know my family will go crazy and we don't have the space for loads especially with xmas not being long after her birthday either

Tbh when I think about it we have spent that but the costs do creep up. Her actual birthday we're going to the zoo, for a family of 4 that's £100 just to get in. Presents probably £150 and I don't think we've even got her anything excessive. Plus decorations, cake, hosting a day where family come to see her. Its easily the amount you have said x
I mean i was gonna say it’s too much until I remembered I spent 1k on a weekend at cbeebies land for his birthday and that’s before any presents so on second thought I’d say 300-400 is fine 😅x
That sounds like a lot to me. I will probably spend about £70 on gifts (would be less, but planning to get a tonies box), £10 on decorations (have a load from last year) , £15-20 on cake ingredients and decorations , and about £50 on food for a family gathering. So £145 total I rekon. Haven’t started sorting anything yet tho lol
I think it depends on what you’re doing. I would budget £100 presents as I think that is more than enough for a two year old. You can get quite a lot for that! I have just finished buying my soon to be two year olds presents he’s getting (cars, dino cars, a truck, about 5/6 books, a tshirt, a matching game, Bluey water colour book, new stacker rainbow loved his old one and lost bits, Dino posters for his room all under £100) But parties, decorations and cake do add up! So I guess it depends more what can you reasonably afford not what does everyone else do x

mums without mums 💔😪
Anyone else no contact with their mum or other family members? It is so hard and isolating, I wish I could have had that perfect family, my baby should have grandma and other family!! I tried so many times to fix it and to deal with my mom and at least try to stay cordial and ignore her remarks but my mom was always so overly dramatic and mean to me, she even said I’m not her child anymore and to not come around for holidays about 4 years ago because she didn’t like the guy I’m with 💔😪 Our relationship was always strained since I was a child too..

Distance
Why is it that when I’m swiping to find friends (within a 15 mile radius) it’s showing people over an hour away… I live in NWI and it’s showing people all the way in Chicago. Like cool I’m open to talking but let’s be honest I don’t wanna travel to Chicago to meet up with someone or have them travel all the way here! Why can’t it just show me people near me and be done with it?

Fed up!
Is anyone else just finding this stage really, really hard? The tantrums, the not listening, my LO is fully in their hitting and kicking era. I get told I’m a good Mum but the point is that my LO doesn’t make me FEEL like I’m a good Mum if that makes sense? I took them out this morning and I felt like everyone was watching their behaviour. I looked around and it felt as though every other Mum/toddler was having a lovely time. I ended up cutting our trip short as I had enough and cried as soon as I got in the car. I find it easy to open up and to speak to friends about how I feel, but the hard bit in that is I find very rarely do I get met with ‘yes we’re going through that too!’ I feel like there’s such a thing with people wanting to make out things are perfect rather than just being honest!
