Hey everyone! My son just turned 8 months old yesterday. For about a week now he is just constantly having meltdowns. Diaper changes? Meltdown. Clothes? Meltdown. Bath time or bed time? Meltdown. Mama puts him down for a second? Meltdown. I know he’s teething. I know it’s developmental as well… but HOW ARE WE MAKING IT THROUGH???
I give him toys he’s never seen during diaper changes. Doesn’t work most of the time. He still wants to roll and be chaotic. He’s been crawling for 2 months now and that has only made changes worse.
I feel like I’m FAILING. I feel like he just hates me all of a sudden. I have to put him somewhere safe and walk away minimum 5 times a day. I’m a stay at home mom. No friends or family near us. I’m struggling so bad. I get angry and I just leave the area and cry. I’m so defeated.

My little one is 8 months and is doing the same. I just put him down in front of his toys and do what I have to do. I dont like the cry it out method, but also I have things I have to do or nothing will get done and my kitchen and living room are in an open concept so I can see him no matter where I am and he has open access to crawling to me. Having your baby in a spot where they can see you can be helpful and communicating what you are doing and say "mommy is right here" or "mommy will be right back". This helps them understand that they are okay. Also, playing peekaboo a lot can help them understand you are coming back. Its hard, but over time your baby will start to learn that its okay.

don’t beat yourself up too much momma! i’m at home with my daughter and the longest time we’ve been apart since birth was 4 hours (i was having a surgery so doesn’t really count) and i’m at the same point with her everything is a meltdown. she’s everywhere (starting to cruise the furniture)
we have a developmental teacher and she tells me they’re kinda little assholes at this age. they have emotions flooding in for the first time and don’t have a volume knob with them. they’re really happy or they are absolutely pissed
My advice, 2 things that most babies can’t resist: water and outside. i’ve been putting my girl on the tub floor with stacking cups and just letting us both take a warm shower or a good bath with skin to skin cuddles. sit on the patio or baby wear for a walk. do you have a children museum? i got a szn pass and they have a great crawler room and you might meet a mom in the same boat!
ur so strong and your boy lucky to have you!

I don't think you are failing! Diaper changes are so difficult now she either sits or is crawling away. Lots of tears, baby wearing and separation anxiety. It seems my girl wants to know that I'll respond and she has lots to say.
I have some nights so sleep deprived. When in the the newborn trenches you are running on adrenaline. Now I feel like I'm running on fumes.
Husband gets home from work at 5om he goes to bed at 6 on the couch I am in the room with the baby. Then when she wakes up at 3am dad gets her and then when he leave for work at 6 I take over again.
My husband says I’m weak minded and he wants a divorce.
I’m pregnant and we have one child together.
I currently am a stay at home mum.
I told him I’m not weak minded or jealous.
All this coming out so harshly is pure evil.
I said divorce but let me find a job first.
He did say to abort the child too.
He is happier without me.
He says first pregnancy I shown no hormonal symptoms like I am now.
Also he says never seen someone argue with their parents like me. I said my dad is a wind up and mum is hot headed.
I still speak to them after we do argue.
I said give one good quality of me.
He says I’m good at cleaning.
I said what about intelligence?
He did not say anything.
He said I hope after abortion you are fine.
I’m like wtf is wrong with you?
I am a fucking strong woman, I’m not weak minded or jealous.
Because of me he don’t have to do drop off and pick ups from nursery.
I actually will probably do an abortion as don’t want to have it with this man.
I want to leave him asap and take my son with me.

Hi, FTM to an adventurous 9m daughter and her dad has revealed that he doesn’t feel the warm fuzzy feeling as she is too dependent on me.
I EBF and he doesn’t like how she cries when away from me and keeps saying I need to give up work as we are codependent.
I try to make them have time together but he just doesn’t want to anymore and switches off to the toilet or his phone.
Can people help as it’s impacting me doing anything for myself now (he has to bring her in when I shower or she’ll cry). I don’t want this type of attachment as I’m going work soon

Would love some opinions. My husband has been commenting this evening about how tired and achy he is feeling, we have both been a little ill the last few days. this in itself doesn’t annoy me too much because I can appreciate that I have looked after our 4 month old all day and he has been out working all day. What annoys me is the following-
1. He came home after work and it was nearly an hour and a half before he finally came downstairs and took over care of our daughter. In the time he was just chilling I did a whole feed and two nappy changes plus general care.
2. He says he’s so tired knowing full well that he will have a decent night sleep tonight and I will be the one getting up to do feed and changes throughout the night etc …which irritates me as it feels like a real lack of awareness for what is ahead for me
3. Tomorrow (Saturday) he is going to watch his team play football with his dad so I will be on my own looking after baby most of the day. He made a joking comment about how he’s so tired that when he gets back from football tomorrow he will need to sleep the rest of the weekend …again I feel a complete lack of awareness on his part and appreciation for how I am feeling and how exhausted I am , plus the fact that I never feel like I get time to myself or time to do things I like the way he does
Am I being too sensitive? Should I say anything?

So my partner is gone on a stag iv at home with my 2.5 year old and 11 month old anyways since he’s been gone my little girl is crying for him. He said he would ring them in the morning and evening well he hasn’t bothered only when I ring him for 5 mins but I’m so annoyed I have to remind him to actually ring the kids not communicating great and i really lost it. Hes on a stag with all hes friends who ain’t dads yet but it’s like he needs reminding he’s 2 kids at home. Im all for him to go spend time with the kids but not to check in on the kids or even to ask how everything is really annoying sorry just needed a rant

My colleague today mentioned ‘wait for if you have a second baby’ as I was saying I try not to give my LO too much sugar, to which my manager said ‘she’s not allowed a second remember’. I immediately said I could report him to HR for that comment and he said yes I could and he was only joking. This isn’t the first time, I’ve been back at work since January and he made a joke when I returned I wasn’t allowed to sit in the ergonomic chair I’d ordered during pregnancy in case I ‘got ideas again’. He also asked me in front of colleagues at lunch after I returned if I wanted more kids/was planning to have more. We’re extremely short staffed and as soon as I got back from maternity, my colleague started hers and now I think he’s worried I will get pregnant again when she returns soon. It is said in jest and we are a close team but these comments and questions are bothering me as it’s not my fault we’re short staffed.
Would these bother you or am I being sensitive? I’m thinking of emailing him so it’s logged that I’m not appreciating these questions or comments.
Has anyone experienced similar?
