Almost 2 year old has never slept through

Hi, my almost 2 year old has never slept through the night. She now wakes up once in the night thankfully but can take from 30 mins-2 hours to resettle with milk still (she has a huge tantrum without), needs her dummy, rocking, putting her back in bed and holding her hand/tickling her back or stroking her hair. She’s starting to climb out of her cot so we’ve got a toddler bed on order and waiting for it to be delivered. I just feel like I must be doing something wrong as I feel like other parents that I know, their baby/toddler has slept okay-ish, with the odd regression/odd bad night. My toddler now always wakes 4.30/5/5.30 ready for the day as well, and I really am struggling to get her back off to sleep as she climbs out of the cot/wont stay in there/wont stay in my arms and wriggles out and runs around her room. I’m so exhausted and just feel like it’s my fault why she doesn’t sleep great but I don’t know what more I can do.

Feel free message me - took me 2.5 years to have them sleep through until I did one thing and he’s slept through within 3 nights every night unless unwell since xxx

Do you know her individual sleep needs? The most common reason for split nights and early starts tends to be a scheduling problem :) x

My little boy used to still wake up/have split nights when he was having too much day time sleep. I always cap his naps at 2 hours now and we no longer have the problem xx

You're not doing anything wrong. Some of them just don't like sleep! Mine was almost 3yo before he started sleeping through, and even now it's not consistent. It is exhausting but it's really not your fault.

I used to feel the same, but then just realised every child is so different! My girls have always been terrible sleepers 😖 My eldest is 4 and she still wakes calling for us during the night or comes in our room for the second half of the night to sleep. My youngest is 19 months and wakes up multiple times during the night. One tired mummy, but I know that one day it'll get better.

Do you and when did you start turning on ms.rachel for your little ones? My baby is 10 months and I don't turn on any screens for her but I have heard that people start early to help with speech development. Obviously in moderation. Any thoughts

Nighttime nappies

Hi all, does anyone have recommendations for a good nappy for nights? 3 month old is sleeping in good stretches but nappies can’t keep up. Tried Aldi and pampers and now on Sainsbury’s and they are great in day but not at night?! Thanks so much

Very unsettled baby girl tonight 😢

My 4 week old seems to just not want to settle/sleep unless she is on me or my husband or being nursed by me. Every time I try to transfer tonight she just starts crying and getting inconsolable. Have made sure she’s fed, burped, helped with gas, changed etc but nothing seems to be working tonight when usually she is ok. I am absolutely exhausted and my husband is working tomorrow so having to manage solo is pretty tough. Anyone else or any suggestions?

Co sleeping

Hello! What do you do to stop the baby from rolling off the edge of the bed? Out bed is quite high and LO had now learnt to roll!

I need your help/advice

My 6 day old hasn’t done a poo for almost 72 hours now. He’s been passing wind and peeing normally. The last time I spoke to the midwife, it had been 48 hours since his last poo, and she said she wasn’t too worried and advised me to continue feeding him.

I’m calling again tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone has experienced something similar. We switched from formula to 100% breastfeeding about 3 days ago, and I have no idea whether he’s getting enough milk. I can see and hear him swallowing, but it’s still so confusing trying to know how much he’s actually getting.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Booking 16 week jabs

I had to cancel our 16 week jabs due to illness and my gp keeps telling me that inhealth will be back in contact to rebook them. It’s now been 4 weeks and still nothing.. anyone have any knowledge here?
